will two pumps require 6hp or more or less?
I am building a bigger tandem air compressor from parts I have, here's the question...
At the moment both are the pumps (when they were first used) were each driven by a 3hp single phase motors
I am mounting both pumps to feed one tank and if possible would like to use one motor instead of two...
If each pump needs 3hp, do I need to produce 6hp or do I need more hp or will less hp work?
Many thanks
2 AnswersEngineering7 years agoCan you run twin wheel axles without the outer two wheels?
Friends tour bus (its a small Iveco) like the smallest public service bus you see running. Its got a flat on the outer tyre on the n/s (it has a twin wheel rear axle, so four tyres on the rear) I've never looked at one in detail, but they have a really early get up tomorrow, and I've gotta try and sort it out for them tomorrow morning with very little tools and it being a sunday nowhere will be open. So I have two questions really...
1) can twin wheel rear axles, be ran safly if we take the outer wheels off both sides, or is the hub arrangment such that the outer wheel holds the inner on?
2) whats the chances of the tyre size on a vechicle like this being over normal sizes and its going to be a LGV jobby and a car tyre place isnt going to stock the size?
5 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs8 years agoIf my business uses a product, can I use their logo?
I own a small paint spraying, refinishing business and use Rust Buster, Akzonobel, Mirka and Devilbiss products. Am I aloud to use their logos at the footer of my site, to say I use them. Trying to put the message across I use tried and tested products, and not cheap materials. Would I be breaking any copyright in doing so?
2 AnswersOther - Advertising & Marketing8 years agoWill I be prosecuted for helping?
I came across a large group of people (with small children) whos cars were stuck in their office complex car park. The electric gate had stopped opening, and the gap left was not big enough for a car to leave. I offerd to help and I got a spanner from my van and un-tightend the bolts securing the electric motor holding the gate half shut, and slid the motor out the way and opend the gate wide enough for them to get out. I then secured the motor back in place. I then told a friend whos business is next door to the car park and he told me the business who owns the building that the car park belongs to has in the past tried to prosecute them for helping in a similar way. Am I in trouble? I left the people with my name and number because I'm a handy man by trade, and thought it might get me some work from them.

6 AnswersEngineering8 years agoWhy are america not putting Assad on trial?
This might seem a far fetched idea but bare with me...
I have a brife understanding of what is going on and the reasons behind why America, feel they have to intervene with the Syrian crisis....
However...
Would the most logical thing not be too put Assad on trail in a UN court, and first find him guilty of the actions hes accused of doing. Is this not the way law wether that be international or domestic, is enforced fairly and legitimately?
Maybe someone with better political knowledge can shed abit more light on it?
There hasnt been any mention of the UN having any further plans or envolvment if Assad is found to have used chemical weapons. The only option seems to be to launch tommahawks at the country... arent the people of Syria in enough danger as it is without American Missiles being hurled at them as well? Does the UN see pelting Syria with tommahawks as the right cause of action and the appropriate solution if the inspectors find it was govement millitary who used chemical weapons?
What is the most likly action the UN would choose to take if the inspectors find it is the military that has indeed used chemical weapons and not the rebels? Would they back America to take action or?

2 AnswersOther - Entertainment9 years agoIs there a specific name for the type of gearbox in an Audi A4 or 6?
Most FWD cars have a tranverse mounted engine, with the driveshaft conections to the gearbox behind the engine parallel. Most RWD cars (engine in front) have the propshaft comming out the back of the gearbox then to the rear diff, all inline with the engine. What would you call the type of gearbox used on the Audi A4/6 also mid engine mounted cars. Arranged the same as a RWD box but the shaft outputs are on the side. Meaning the whole drivetrain is much shorter, a mid engine layout is possible with the driveshafts at right angles to the box and engine. So rather than have a gearbox and prop then your live rear axle or diff... you would have your gearbox then driveshafts out the side of the box and independant susspension?
Thanks alot!
