im not talking run of the mill picture frame or card or poem or none of that, ive covered many of the basics, and he already knows me to be more of a unique gift giver, usually making things by hand or finding a way to personalize anything i give. his birthday is coming up, and i need something beautifully original and unique. He's an artist of many mediums so i know he appreciates anything artistic.. i was working on a copper wire tree sculpture that would be attached to a broken piece from a marble slab, and maybe have 29 ivory ribbons (thats how old he is gunna be) hanging from the branch each with an inscription that has a "what i love about you" reason on it. maybe wire a few LEDs into it so it can function as an ambient nightstand light as well. i need more ideas in case this one doesnt work as well as i hope. be creative and out there!

okay so im writing a book, a fictional work, and its going to jump from the past, which is told in the beginning, to about 10 years or so to the present. I dont know if thats okay or bad style or structure... or how to go about doing so. the past sets up a lot of foreshadowing for the present and explains in great detail and instances of the characters personalities and why they're the way they are. but it skips ahead several years at a time from middle school to high school to adulthood/college and 3rd person makes that easier to describe, but transitioning to "present day" im not quite sure the best method or technique.. any tips from writers

this one actually has a name. and again its one of those read between the lines poems, not a literal one so when i may be describing diamonds, but im really talking about a person lol.

I get nervous showing it to my friends because im always worried they will laugh at me, or just be nice cuz they don't want to hurt me.. but here it is... i never really came up with a title for it though...

I'm thinking about buying a set of the Prismacolor double ended markers for my friend for christmas, I'm starting on this early because the 48pc set is about $120.00 and I'm only just now going back to work. Anyway,

I wanted to kind of do it as a surprise, like give him a large drawing pad first, and wrap it up lol and see the look on his face when i just give him a plain drawing pad.. then somehow segue into a beautiful set of markers that i know he loves.

But Im hoping some of you artists can give me advice on a good type or brand of drawing paper that wont bleed through to the next sheet, something white and heavy. any advice!

okay so i just purchased a touch pro 2 and its gunna arrive tomorrow. but sprint doesnt have many apps available, neither does windows mobile. does anyone know of a place to get some cool apps?? i spent $500 on this phone and i want to be able to take advantage of everything option available.. link me to some sites if anyone knows of any!

something thats meaningful. nothing dumb like "mugs" or whatever. something to invoke thought maybe. that when you look at it youre reminded of its theme, like i was trying to make something with the kanji symbol for strength... my original idea was a white gold chain with white gold dog tags with the kanji symbol on the front tag, and a quote on the other. that can always be worn and looked at and remembered

or is there just too much bad crap in it to make this worth it.

my toshiba was having the standard overheat-shut off routine when i turned it off and left it to cool. well along comes my fiancee's little brothers, and turns it on when i say not to so he shuts it again.. well when my fiancee comes home he wants to get on, pushes the power button and nothing... it wont turn on. its plugged in, and shows the wall adapter is plugged in, on the left LED light, and shows the battery charging/fully charged on the right side, but the center one shows the unit not being powered on, when i remove the ac adapter, the battery charge light should stay on but it doesnt. and it still doesnt power on, the light didnt come on until the battery was dying then it started blinking orange. ive tried plugging it into a new outlet, removing all usb accessories, and pushing the little lid standby button, and it wont work! i have no idea how they managed to break it like this, anyone have any idea how to fix it? i have really important files i need to get quickly! thanks!
