Brian Greene's The Elegant Universe for dummies?
I want to read Brian Greene's book The Elegant Universe. But the reason I'm bringing this up here is that is it readable for someone who knows absolutely nothing about string theory, Advanced Mathematics, and stuff like that. I've heard alot about it from my friends of mine who's really into science and understands stuff like that, but I don't want to read a book I'll have trouble understanding. So for a perfectly normal guy, with the same knowledge about this as everyone else. Is it readable?

7 AnswersOther - Dining Out8 years agoIs my laptop or my charger faulty?
I accidentally bought a 65W charger for a 90W laptop. Recently the charger's plug that you put into the PC itself get's very hot. I ignored this until parts of the Plug actually melted at got stuck inside the PC. Is this related, or is the PC faulty here? I recently got it back from repair, so is it a their fault maybe? Did they do something wrong while reparing it? It should be noted that they did repair that part you stick then plug into.

Is this possible? I don't have time to pick it up myself. It's a package. Can someone else like my dad or something do it?
3 AnswersOther - Local Businesses8 years agoReason to return router?
I bought a new router about 1 week ago. As it turns out it's preventing me from visiting several websites I need for schoolwork and in my freetime. I've tried every fix available, and as it turns out it's a bug in the router itself that I myself can't do anything about. It needs to be fixed in a firmware update. I looked and the last firmware update was released this time a year ago, so it's a good chance it's not coming.
Is this reason enough to return it and get a new one for free, or do I have to buy a new one?

What I'm asking is. Will we ever get back to the Moon, or ever get to Mars?
With the Constellation Program cancelled what is Nasa goals for the future? Will there be a new Program that will replace Constellation? Unfortunately, the men in Washington don't think that Space exploration and missions are very important.
3 AnswersAstronomy & Space8 years agoCan I call the police if I have a guest that won't leave?
Now. A few days ago I got home I found that my sister was havng a party since she thought she was home alone when our parents were gone. I asked everyone to leave nicely, but I was just ignored and I ended up having to suffer through the night since I couldn't just physically take everyone out. I was just one person.
Now is this a viable reason to call the cops and ask them to remove these people? Since I'm an adult and she isn't I'm the "one in charge" right? can anyone help me? I know this is going to happen again.

7 AnswersLaw Enforcement & Police8 years agoWhat is the situation really like in Scotland?
I read alot on foreign newspapers and stuff and I always see guys wanting Scottish Independence. This leads me to believe that's what the main population of Scotland wants, but when I talked to a Scottish fellow in person the other day he said that most of Scotland want to remain in the UK, only that the nationalists are speaking out for their cause, while everyone else sits at home and don't really talk about it alot in newspapers, forums etc. Can anyone bring this situation to light? Who's right here?

4 AnswersAstronomy & Space8 years agoCan Communism be a democracy?
Today in class my teacher said that a communist state can still be a democracy, and that Stalin, Lenine, Mao, Pol Pot and other's interpretation of communism is what made it a totalitarian state. So picture a scenario that a communist party is elected into parliament. How can this work? Can someone explain?
