  • What are some things I could do with a 5 gallon tank?

I have a 5 gallon tank... glass with lid and light. I would be willing to get the best aquarium pump - upgrade lighting ... whatever.

So here is the question. I really don't know what to do with it. Could anyone give any ideas on what would work... be it frogs (what type?) plants.. fish.. something fuzzy (don't think anything fuzzy would be happy in a 5 just saying) .. decorative .. anything. What are some things I could do to make this tank interesting and useful? Just looking for some ideas... thanks!

  • Oscar fish in 40 gallon?

I am a person who researches before getting anything for a tank. I have owned everything from Cichlids to Piranhas (talk about messy eaters)

I have been reading around on Oscars and have come up with mixed answers. I have heard range on tank size from 30 gal to 75 gallon for one fish. People have max size of fish listed anywhere from 8 to 18 inches. I am dizzy from conflicting info and wonder what all you opinions are.

I have a 40 gallon - great filtration.. The Oscar would be it. I may make this a starter tank and move up when and if need be - (yes I know they can grow fast.. I am a fast actor on things when the time calls for it)

What do you know on Oscars tank and fish size?
