A migrant fisherman's willingness to go out every day without fail arouses the suspicion and resentment of his less dedicated white Australian neighbours. He goes out in a huge storm and his boat is wrecked. Despite their apparent antipathy his neighbours band together to get him back on his feet. The biggest check comes from the one who had seemed the worst racist of all. Would love to find this, thought it was called 'Luigi's Gone (again?)' but no luck so far.

Distopian Sci Fi where parents are trying to warn son not to do too well on an ability test but can't do do so overtly due to Big Brother style surveillance. Child ignores or does not get warning and is subsequently taken away by authorities.

I thought their name was Stormy but my Japanese is not good and that may have been the name of the club they were playing at (Stormy Monday). This was a few years ago so they may not exist any longer. I used to see a clip of them playing live on Japanese TV occasionally but never got around to tracking them down.
