i'm talking about the "your phone has been infected by a virus" or "you're today's lucky winner of (something)". The ones where you have to shut down Facebook to get out of the ad, and can't finish reading the article you wanted.

years ago I bought a Verizon phone partly because of the sales pitch that it could play music. I tried downloading albums and the Verizon rep spent hours trying to get my phone to play the music but it wouldn't. I finally gave up, assumed it would only play music purchased from Verizon, and got an I-pod.

Now my daughter wants to add music to her phone. Is there a way to add music from an album or freesite to a Samsung Intensity or Samsung Brightside phone without using V-cast Verizon downloads? I'm going to try just downloading from my computer and see if it works THIS time.

No, not gospel. My daughter wants music by Eminem but before I said "No", I listened to his song "Mockingbird". Apparently written for his daughters, it tells his problems and it sounds a lot like the problems our family is dealing with. That's what I'm looking for. Songs about his kids or for his kids, or about his struggles to make his life better. I can find the clean (no cussing) versions on itunes, but I'm looking for themes that are ok for a kid, without sex, drugs, racism, spouse abuse, and such.

Several years ago I kept a flock of pet ducks. Looking into getting more last week, I heard that the US Federal Government is trying to outlaw the ownership of Muscovy ducks because feral populations have become established in Texas. Has anyone heard if this is true? What can we do about it?

I recently tried a google search that was taken over by an ad site called "help-yield.com". The search came up with a list of advertisers who have apparently paid for the site instead of the search I was looking for. Apparently it was an disguised as an update for Yahoo that I had downloaded, and says it's "powered by Yahoo", and my anti-spyware missed it. So I posted a question to Yahoo Answers to ask how to fix this.

I got responses that this was Malware and suggested Ad-Aware and MalWareBytes. Along with the suggestion that I google search for anti-malware, in spite of the fact that I just said I couldn't use google.

So now I've installed AdAware and MalWareBytes and updated their recognition files as well as the recognition files for my existing SpySweeper and run each of them in Safe mode (one at a time), and not one of them fixed the problem.

Has anyone tried something that works against this?
