  • Server 2008 Help == LDM question?

How do you register Logical Disk Manager?

    The purpose is this:

I need this registered so I can view Disk Management thru AD on my computer. No need to stand in server room -

Its a simple way for us to keep track of our disk space.

All my other servers (2003) are perfectly fine. I can read Disk Management on all 8 servers (at my pc)

I tried doing a simple snap in however the same error came back - ldm not registered

That being said - I'm looking for Server 2008 admins that understand what I'm doing.

I'm running RHEL - - -Red Hat Enterprise (Fedora)

I built an Apache server. I decided to use self signed certificates for encryption.

My commands are good, i think:

    #cd /etc/pki/tls/certs

    #make localhost.key

The key generates and I create a server key.

Problem is the certificate..it wont generate

    my command isn't working..

    #make localhost.key

  • Troubleshooting a NIC?

    Here Here Admins,

I need some suggestions - I've got a machine (dell desktop) at work that will not cooperate with me.

The onboard NIC is detected and the drivers are up to date, however, it will not connect. Getting an APIPA address. I uninstalled and reinstalled drivers and I'm still getting the same results. I installed a brand new DLINK NIC and installed the drivers. Same issue. I checked services and verified DHCP client is running. My work bench has 5 stations for machines. all cat5 lines have been tested on the bench.Actually my system is hooked to the switch that runs the bench so I know it's not the switch or any of the lines. Two NICs and neither can reach the DHCP server....Suggestions?

  • 2003 Chevy Blazer Idles..?

Why does my truck idle around 1500 rpm's (sorry if im saying that wrong) when I start it up? It doesn't go below 1000. I can be sitting at a light and it will rev as if it wants to go. My truck is in mint condition, has 48,500 miles and has been well maintained. What should I do? It sounds like an idle problem but I don't know how/what to do. Arizona is #1 in auto theft repair scams so I want to have some idea before going in to any mechanic shop

  • Subnet Question.....CCNA help?

A little clarification please... I understand that if my subnet is 255.255.248.0 that I have 2048 hosts.

    192.168.2.1, 255.255.248.0 <---server

Would my static IP look like such: 192.168.2.251 thru 192.168.4.251 on r1 then 192.168.4.252 thru 192.168.3.252 on r2?

    when I do the math 8*254 = 2032. I'm missing 16 hosts...where did I mess up? I feel like swiss cheese after last night..ugh!

    *r1 =router 1

    *r2 =router2
