  • Do you trust Obama will keep his politics out of your kids classroom?

On tuesday, Obama is going to talk to all students across the country in a webcast, supposedly about the importance of education, and staying in school.

Do you trust he will keep his political views and agendas out of his speech, and out of your children's head?

  • In Left 4 Dead, is it possible to pass to another player, when it says you will be the tank?

Is it possible when you are playing versus online, and you get the screen telling you, that you are about to become the tank, can you choose to let a team mate become the tank?

I suck at tanking really bad, and it seems in close games when I get that message, I would much rather let a team mate play it. Since the documentation with the game sucks really bad, is it possible?

  • What are some things you can do to keep from going crazy while unemployed?

What are some tips to avoid the blues while you are unemployed. I lost my job this last week, and while I got a really decent severance, I already am getting the blues. The last time I was unemployed, I was laid off a week before 9/11 and I was looking for work for 7 months. I fear the economy tanking like it is now, maybe I will be without work for a long time. The blues really hit me last time, and I really don't want to go through that again.

I am a single dad of two kids, and i have the kids all the time too.

    Any pointers.

  • Can some things affect a kids temperature?

Can certain ambient things affect a child's temperature? Such as taking their temperature after they have been crying for a long time? Or have been under the covers for a long time?

I have a sick kid, and really want to know should I worry about some of these things giving him a higher temperature than normal.

  • What should I get my kids for Barackmas?

I mean, what should I get them, and let them open on Barackmas morning? I only ask because I wonder what their reactions will be when the government swat team beats down my door and seizes all of their new toys, to give to the kids down the streets. Do I give them something they want, or something they will hate so they are glad when the government takes them away?

  • What makes a great hamburger?

I have tried several different ways of making my own hamburgers at home. No matter what I try, I just can't seem to make anything that is remotely as good as a restaurant. What separates the burgers coming from restaurants from those we make at home?

Is it in the meat? Ground chuck, beef, is something else mixed in, spices?

Is it in the buns? Other ingredients?

Seriously, what is it? I work around restaurants all day, and I can always smell the wonderful smells coming from the bar and grills. It drives me crazy, the more I try to make a truly great burger, the worse the end result gets.

  • Am I the only one who has grown tired of Christmas?

This year, I am really having a very tough time getting into the spirit. I am a single parent of two young kids, and I am really struggling to make ends meet. I have seen Christmas's in years past, filled with presents this, presents that from everyone around me. I have been told I need to spend more money than I have on the younger kids in my extended family, been told it is okay to spend credit on Christmas, because it is once a year. I have worked extremely hard this last year to become debt free, and even though money is coming a bit easier, I am dismayed that around me, it seems like everywhere I turn, am told it is all about the presents.

I turn to places online, and find Holiday Sales... buy this, buy that, spend spend. My kids expect me to bury them in presents, yet I cannot do it. I go to the Christmas section of Y!A, and of the 20 some odd questions listed per page, all but one is about gifts, presents.

My family tried selling me that Christmas was about the birth of Christ, yet when the time comes, Christ is no where in it. Really is about gifts, and what they want.

I really am no longer interested in the holiday. My kids want me to put the GD tree up, and I really just don't feel like it.

Am I the only one that feels like this?

Oh, and have you ever stood outside of your own views, and truly watched the Christmas commercials> Especially the jewelry ones. "Show the woman you love how much you care this holiday season, with a new terribly expensive rock on her finger this year" or the Lexus commercials, where they say a new Lexus is the "perfect" gift.

I love Christmas, I really do. I just am growing to feel now that without money, it may have lost a lot of its charm on me.

  • Why does my taffy come out so hard?

    http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/cho...

I have tried making this recipe a couple of times now, and it always comes out so hard that it could be used to pull filling out of teeth. I have followed the directions to the letter, even tried cooking the syrup mixture to a lower temperature. I pull it as long as it says I should, and no matter what I do, it's always too hard.

Am I doing something wrong, (Is there something wrong with the recipe?) Or better yet, I live above 5000 feet, is there some kind of high altitude adjustment I should make? I have had to adjust other recipes, like cookies to cope, but what?

    Any ideas

  • Single channel / Dual channel memory question?

I am building my computer from the ground up. I ordered everything online, and I have one glitch...

The mother board I ordered supports dual channel memory, and the memory I ordered, unfortunately, is single channel. Would ordering another stick of the exact same single channel memory, when installed make it function as a dual channel set, if they are from the same manufacturer, timing, and are identical in every respect?

Or do I just return it, and order a dual channel set?
