I am have trouble finding personal protection ammo(hallow points). I want to know if target/ranged ammo would be okay to use in my home self defense weapon? I have a Beretta 92fs and I am using Winchester 9mm Luger 115 grain full metal jacket ammo.

What is the proformance difference between the Beretta 96FS Centurion .40 S&W and the Beretta 96FS Standard .40 S&W? I know the deminsion are smaller for the Centurion, besides that I am unsure.

I want a calibre that has the lowest recoil, but enough power to stop an attacker. I have been reading about .380 and .38 +p, I am not sure on what I want. Can anyone help guide me on what I should research into? Right now I am leaning towards getting either a Walther PPK or a Ruger LCR

Politically, I am a Libertarian (Go Ron Paul!). I love the snow and hate hot summers. I am not rich, more of a middle class than anything else. I would like to live in a rural area but close to a city for things to do and employment. I hope that is a enough information to get an idea what would be good for me.
