  • Am I too old to retrain as a cook or chef?

I'm 38 and was wondering if I'm too old to retrain to become a cook or chef. I do have a little experience in a kitchen, 20 years ago when I first left school, but since turning eighteen I have been a truck driver in the UK and the USA. So I can boil an egg but I'm not confident enough to try and blag my way in.

What I would like to know is am I too old to be dreaming?

Would kitchens be interested in taking on someone of my age with no knowledge and training them?

What would culinary school cost and would it be more beneficial instead to work in a kitchen and learn that way?

All I know is I have a burning desire to do this and it's eating up all my waking moments. I just have no clue as to where to start.

I thank you in advance for your time and answers.

  • Where can I get privacy curtains for my 2005 Freightliner Columbia?

I would like to increase the space available to me at night and only have the black out curtains across the bunk. I would like to know where I could purchase curtains and a track for my truck that will fit around the windows.

I've checked out the manufacturers website but had no luck finding anything.

    Thanks!

  • Advice about in cab electrics please.?

I have landed a trucking job which will keep me away from home a few nights a week and I want to run a fridge, coffee maker, TV and possibly a game system but I don't want to run it all out of a cigarette socket because I know I could blow some fuses.

I know I need an inverter but can anyone explain the how's and the whys because anything electrical fries my mind.

    Thank you.

  • 1995 Lincoln Town Car trunk key cover?

Hi, the Lincoln emblem key cover has fallen off of my car exposing the key hole. I would like to replace this as it ruins the look of this lovely car. So..

1, Is this an easy task or should I see a mechanic?

2, How costly would it be?

3, Where could I find the correct parts?

Or should I just glue it back on as I still have the cover and I never use the key to open the trunk anyway

Thanks for your replies in advance.
