I need to solve for x and y, knowing that:

sin(T) * y – cos(T)* x = a

– cos(T) * y – sin(T)* x = b

Note that I'm not trying to get you to do my homework...this is a real world problem. Thanks in advance.

We're growing kale in planters, and are finding that it's not quite as tasty as it used to be. The plants are also taller and kind of bedraggled looking.

My wife thinks we should dead-head them. I'm not entirely sure how to do this, except to saw through the stalk just below the leaves. I've searched the web and haven't found references to dead-heading kale, only to harvesting the whole plant.

Any suggestions? I don't want to kill the plants, but I'd like to get back to that sweet tender kale we used to get.
