Is it possible to replace the video card on my Presario CQ56?
I have a Compaq Presario CQ56, and I'm beginning to suspect the video is dying. Occasionally the icons on the laptop screen will quaver or flash, but not on the secondary monitor.
I've replaced the video card on a desk top, but never a laptop. Any experience?
3 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks8 years agoIs there any reason to keep old negatives?
I recently converted all my old negatives, slides and photos to .jpeg. I understand I may want to keep the really OLD pictures, but other than those..is there any reason to keep the negatives/slides and the more recent photos (other than something I may want to frame and hang)?
I'm trying to minimize my "stuff", but I don't want to thoughtlessly toss something.
Thank you
4 AnswersPhotography9 years agoHow seriously do you take what your spouse or significant other says?
I think a good premise is that everyone says the wrong thing on occasion, or even hurtful things without meaning too.
If you aren't arguing with your spouse/so and they say something that's hurtful, how seriously do you take it?
My bf was recently venting about his ex-wife and in the middle of his vent said he felt it was going to be his job to protect his son from being punished by me on a daily basis. It was one sentence out of a 90 minute vent session, and it really bothered me.
Yes, I am more structured and more inclined to place boundaries on behavior, but he made it sound like I was going to beat the child on a daily basis. I was a little stunned. We've talked and he doesn't even remember saying it.
So, I'm just curious...how seriously do you take what they say?
6 AnswersMarriage & Divorce9 years agoSo is this how guys feel?
I proposed to my boyfriend last night, and he said "no". While I admit that I asked to help him with his medical insurance and financial issues, it isn't like we don't love each other. Now I feel like a total idiot, and would like to just pull the covers over my head and pray the rest of this trip goes by in a flash. I really don't want to look him in the face.
So, is this how guys feel when a marriage proposal goes *poof* in your face? Gotta tell you, I understand why guys don't ask.
4 AnswersMarriage & Divorce9 years agoLegally, if an employer over pays on your last check, are you legally required to repay?
My previous employer, a multi-billion dollar international financial institution, grossly overpaid my accrued vacation time. I did MY part before I left, and had the time reporting system completely accurate and up to date. Even HR commented they hoped payroll would pay me correctly, and they didn't. Now, they're threatening me with "additional action" if I don't pay them back within 10 days. "Additional Action" will likely be putting this in to a collection agency.
For the record, this is not the only time they've screwed up this way.
Legally, am I responsible for their error and gross mismanagement? (I'm in the USA). Another words, do I have to LEGALLY return the money?

In Florida, are there any protections to prevent a homeowners association from publicly discussing personal information in their open meetings? For example, disclosing that a specific homeowner is a single parent who works full time, and telling where that person resides.
While the information is true, this disclosure has open the person up to potential targeting by criminals.
Is this a legal issue or merely a moral one? Or are these association members just stupid, which is, regretfully, not a criminal act?
2 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoDoctors threatening to drop patients?
When you don't listen to them like they're gods. I'm in excellent health, LDL is 1 point above the "norm", but overall is fine. Blood glucose was also 1 point above "norm". When I refused to have blood work done every 3 months to check it, I was told if I didn't do what the doctor said, he may decide he doesn't want me as a patient. My mother had a similar issue...except the doctor told her that directly. My mother switched doctors. I told them to let me know when it becomes an issue for him, and I'll collect my records and change doctors. No word yet.
When did this start happening? As far as I know I still get to decide what I will and won't do, medically. Any opinions?
