What will these cuts ensue?

I put a cup of green lentils in cold water then set to a boil. When I came back, the water was the color of ink with black foam. Eew I threw it out but why is this? I have well water and we recently experienced a flood in northeast Ohio.

My husband saw a giant rat looking thing, bigger than our cat, which he i.d. as an opposum. In the summer, our outside cat was killed by something that big it's leg almost off and chewed a hole through it. It was a tomcat too. How do you get rid of these creatures? Should I poison it?

I am constantly gnawing on my cuticles, sometimes till they are sore and bleeding. It started when I was little, when my parents got divorced. I cannot take medication for it, and am on lithium for bi polar. I do it when I am happy or sad. I try to keep busy so I don't do it, but soon as I sit down, I do it again. I suppose it is comforting. I have kicked smoking and other habits, but I can't seem to stop this. Is there anyone else out there doing this that has beat it? Are there any herbs that would help? How do you make yours on the stove? What kind of oil do you use?

I quit smoking and drinking coffee. I whitened my teeth they were very nice. Now I drink black tea. Would milk in it be beneficial to stop the staining? Is it worse when I put lemon in it?

Is there a way to make a foundation out of powder? Perhaps mix it with something? Or does anyone have an idea what to do with my old powder?

My futon mattress slips down the frame and needs readjusted everytime i sit on it.

I read that floor gripper mats might help, and also saw a strap for the mattress to hold it in place. Has anyone used these? I am open to suggestions.
