  • My ex won't talk to me?

My ex and I dated for 5 years and I've known him now for almost 8 years.I broke up with him 2 years ago bc we just didn't work well together and I couldn't see us having a future together, but we remained friends.

I have been in a new relationship for about 2 years now since my ex, but my ex and I always talked and were actually really good once we broke up. I wanted nothing more than a friendship bc I was completely out of love with him, but still loved him as a friend plus he knew me better than anyone.

My current bf didn't have a problem with us speaking or seeing each other bc he said he trusts me and knew I wasn't doing anything wrong which I wasn't.

However my ex has a new gf and they've been together for a shorter amount of time, but now they are serious and he said he's in a really good relationship and his gf will not let him text me or message him. He said she looks through his phone and computer and I'm basically not allowed to talk to him anymore. He said it's not that he doesn't want to stay on good terms with me, but he doesn't want her to get jealous or angry.

So it's like we've been knowing each other this long and now he is never going to speak to me again. I understand where they are both coming from, but I've wanted nothing other than to stay his friend and now it's not possible. It's like how do you throw all those years away? It's not that I don't love my bf now bc I definitely do, but it hurts to lose someone who I thought I'd know forever.
