  • How old was your baby/toddler when you switched to a forward facing car seat?

My little girl is 26 pounds and 11 1/2 months old, I know for right now she's too young to face front but I was courious about what others have done. The what to expect website says to stay rear facing until she is two, but that seems kind of impractical because I drive a sub-compact and her feet are already wedged aganced the backseat to not much growing room. Thanks for any advice!

  • What can i do if my sister is being abused?

My little sister is 16 and is under constant abuse by my stepmother. She frequently calls me crying and begging me to let her stay with me but I know if she runs away they will make her go back and it will be worse. I know she isn't lieing or rebelling because I was abused when I lived there and I ran away when I was 17 I'm 20 now. She isn't physicaly abused, only verbally and mentaly. Over this week my stepmom has coxed my neice to trash her room and they gave her candy after she was finished, my stepmom has threatened to break her fingers while she was sleeping, she refers to her as slut or whore, she makes fun of her because her grades are slowly getting worse and worse. I think its because of the abuse. I know this isn't right and I'm scared if I. Report to CPS they won't do anything bacause its not physical or they will place her in. Foster care. Is there anyway she can move in with me and my husband? We have a house and a car and we make more thanenough money to support her. Oh and my father knows he just always leaves the house when my stepmom flies off the handle please help

  • Is it normal to lose sensation after childbirth?

When I gave birth it happened so quickly my body didn't have time to stretch itself I was only in labour for only an hour my midwife said that's why I tore the way I did. Not to be graphic or anything but I had a third degree tear straight down and I tore up as well which is less common. I had extensive stitching and I stayed in hospital for a week. When I was discharged my insurance was cancled so I was never able to go bad for my check up my stitches disolved and I just hopes for the best. My baby is nine monthes old now and I feel like I'm in terrible shape there it doesent hurt anymore but when I'm "with" my boyfriend I can't feel anything at all and sometimes it feels like it didn't heal properly my bf says it dosent feel any different to him but I can't say the same :-( I know I should try to see a doctor but I work two jobs and I make to much for medicaid but not enough to pay for healthcare myself. Long story short, is it normal to lose all feeling? And will it ever come back?

  • I feel like my boyfriend doesnt want me anymore and it hurts?

We used to have sex a lot and it was great but now we have been together for almost three years and we have a daughter together and we hardly do it anymore. Its upsetting because I want him all the time I'm still attracted to him I don't understand why he isn't attracted to me at all anymore. I feel rejected and I feel like it affecting my emotions I'm always angry or depressed when ever he is around because he is always paying attention to something other than me. I don't want to leave a good relationship just because I'm not happy with the sexual parts of it but its not just the longing for intamacy its also the feeling of not being good enough. I work hard to keep myself at a certain weight I jog and work out and I keep my hair and make up the way he likes it and I just don't feel like there's a point to it he hardly makes eye contact anymore. I feel awful about it but sometimes I emagine myself with someone who just can't keep there hands off of me. Anyway my question is what should I do I don't want to break up my family but I'm really very unhappy what should I do?

  • Has anyone delt with this postpartum?

Ever since the birth of my daughter my previously diagnosed depression has gotten worse, tenfold, I have started hearing voices and having increasingly disturbing thoughts about something hurting my baby. At my six week check up after she was born my midwife advised me it was only "baby blues" nd it yould pass. Now my daughter is nearly a year and the symptoms are growing even worse to the poing where I'm a captive in my own home scared to go out incase something happens to my baby. I was diagnosed with postpartum OCD I have never even heard of this but my doctor said it was compounded with my preexisting depression. My husband thinks its a joke and even worse now he is scared of leaving me with her. I'm not a bad mom I just need help. Any support out there?

  • My husband wont trust me when i say im pregnant?

I've skipped two periods already I'm having the same mood swings and cravings I had with my first child (she's a year old so my memory of it is still fresh) my breasts are growing bigger and getting sore ect... I know with all my heart I'm pregnant and I'm very happy it wasn't planned but I want my children close together. The only problem is my husband won't beleave that I'm pregnant and refuses to take me to a doctor or even buy me a pregnancy test! I don't have anyone else to take me to a drug store and I don't live within walking distance of anything and my husband works 16 hours a day. What should I do to get him to trust me I want to get to a doctor to get proper care and I can't do it without him cooperating thanks

  • Why won't my boyfriend stop flirting with other girls?

We have been together 3 years and it's been like this since day 1, he wants attention so badly he flirts with everything that moves, it makes me sick that we have a 8 month old daughter together and it won't stop him at all. He won't let me wear cute clothes just baggy t-shirts and jeans he won't let me wear make-up ether while he can spend as long as he wants getting ready. What's worse is that when we go out he ignores me and our daughter, I'm planning on leaving him because I can't take it anymore it's just I know my daughter will miss him and I will to. Is it right to leave him even if we have a child?

  • Why won't my boyfriend show concern for me?

A few days ago he totaled my car because he was texting while driving, and rear ended a f-250 in our neon, our 6month old daughter was in the backseat with me luckily her and my boyfriend were ok. I on the other hand suffered a concussion two black eyes a broken tooth and a sprained knee. Earlier today I noticed blood in my urine and I've been having cramps in my stomach compairable to labor pains. Anyway my bf is carrying on like nothing is wrong he went away for 2 days with his friends when the day I got out of the hospital and expected me to carry on without any help when I couldn't even pick up my baby because of the injuries I received when I do ask if he can take over for an hour so I can take laydown he acts like I'm a lazy mom and our baby is a burden to him he just puts her in her swing and ignores her while she is crying so I don't get rest at all because I cant stand that. Idk what to do my family disowned me so I don't have anyone else to turn to I actually blacked out yesterday from a headache and came to to him asking to go out with his friends. Why dose he not show concern for me? Am I really being to demanding of him? What would you do in this situation?

  • how to get my 2 month old to sleep better at night?

my daughter is 9 weeks old and she defiantly knows her nights from days and falls asleep on her own easily at around 9:30 that's not the problem, its just that she wakes up every 2 hours and wont go back to sleep unless she gets a bottle but she only drinks like a half an ounce to an ounce and she will wake back up like clock work 2 hours later and the whole proses starts again. she wont take a binky and even when i rock her or keep her in her crib and just talk and pat her she just gets more and more aggravated until she is so worked up she is up for hours. any way i can get her to sleep better? she is almost 13 pounds and her doc says she only needs two bottles at night and should be sleeping 5 to 6 hours that would be great if i could get it to happen lol, any suggestions? thanks
