  • 20 Month old is uncontrolable!!!!!!! Help?

I have a 20 month old son and he gets mad and throws things, if he grabs something he's not suppose to he will run and throw it as hard as he can, he seems to be more fussy than content. He sleeps very well and eats good. This is everyday all day. He does take a 2 hour nap a day and also he's mean to the dogs, kicking and pinching them, he slaps me in the face. I am a stay at home mom so he isn't seeing this behavior at daycare....

  • My 18month old son won't sleep anymore at night.....HELP?

From birth to 5 months my sons crib was in my room, then I moved him into his nursery. He was a few weeks early, my doctor said he believes I went into labor early because I was under immense stress. After having him he slept ever 3 hours until about 4 or 5 months old then he slept from 9pm to 6am I would give him a bottle and he'd go back to sleep for a few more hours.

I had to move abruptly when he was 13 months in with my mother so then I had to share a bed with him..it took a couple weeks then he started back into his routine.

After staying with my mother for 1 month I moved into my own place and still have to share a bed with him only now he DOESN'T sleep! He's up and down all hours of the night....it's been 4 months! He is not getting healthy sleep so he stays cranky!

I also have a 11year old daughter and a husband who sleeps in the living room and we are headed for divorce...our problems really started up last summer and have peaked since living here.

He still drinks a bottle at night and has a pacifier.

  • 18 Month old not talking, Is it because.....?

    Hi,

I have a boy that will be 18months on the 15th, he is talked to in spanish and in english, both the same amount, we don't favor one language over the other. I have an 11 year old and we only spoke english with her and now I see we did her wrong by not teaching her both because now she is learning and it is more difficult for her especially when she goes to Mexico to visit her Grandparents and family. Here's my question, Is my son not talking because he is spoken to in 2 different languages? Or is there maybe another reason? My daughter was potty trained by 18 months and talking in sentences, yet my son says "bye,Mom,Jack (he can't say Jackie (his sisters name), no, bad, etc.

    Any advice??

  • I had my son sleeping all night after using the "ferber" Method but then....?

He started cutting his "I" teeth and woke up once and I made the mistake of giving him a pacifier, I am regretting it now. I was told to do the "Ferber" method when he was around 5 months old and it worked beautifully. Yes it was hard the first few nights but it paid off and he was a much happier baby. Now he is 8 months and I need him back to sleeping all night again. He's not hungry he is just not going back to sleep now unless i get up and give him his pacifier. Any help?? please??

I seen a different doctor than my usual pediatrician yesterday because I thought he had an ear infection (Turns out he is perfectly fine) But she examined him and asked me if I ever pull back his foreskin and I said "no, I thought it was fused to the penis and it will loosen up as he grows" She said no and I need to start working on pulling it back because he may wined up having a "Strangled Head"?? My son is 7 months old. Help please???

  • Does my 7 month old sleep too long?

He is 7 months old today, he goes to sleep at 8:30pm and wakes at 7am for a bottle then goes back to sleep until 10-10:30am.

Naps at 12 or 12:30pm for an hour

Naps at 4pm for 45 min to an hour then we start his bath and bedtime routine at 7:30-7:745pm..It's a bath, warm bottle and I read a book then it's bedtime.

Anyone else like to share their routine??

  • 6 month & teething......?

My son just cut his 2 bottom teeth...both are all the way broke through the skin, can he still fuss from this? He seems to fuss a lot. I have already been through the colic and changing of formula, also he had acid reflux...then a double ear infection. So my lil man has had it rough, but I take him every few weeks for check ups just to make sure his ears look ok and he is gaining weight but recently since the teething he has been so fussy, not wanting to eat much and I am just wondering if it can still be from him cutting his teeth??

  • Lastnight-First night of the "ferber" method...?

I wrote last night asking anyone if they had ever tried this method or if they tried something else to get their baby to sleep better. My son is 5 months old and will wake up every hour or 2 just for me to repeat the same thing I did to put him to bed the first time.

Last night went pretty well, I laid him down and after crying for 30min with me standing there comforting him he was out, the only thing is my husband had to get up early for work so I couldn't follow through all night but he did sleep better than he has in a long while!

Again if anyone has any advice?

    "K" your answer isn't needed.

  • Anyone believe in the "Ferber" sleep method or tried it? Is my son too young?

I have taught my son bad sleep habits already and I am so tired that his pedi said he recommend me reading the Richard Ferber, M.D. book and follow his steps. I am reading it now and I have identified my sons sleep problems but I am worried he is too young plus he has a hot temper and cries like someone is trying to kill him (he has been this way since he was 3 weeks old) so please give me some feedback or things that have worked for you.

And if you are reading this and against Richard Ferber please no comments if they are going to be nasty. Remember what your mom (hopefully) taught you, If you have nothing nice to say then don't say anything at all.

I'm just a mom that wants her child to get the right amount of good rested sleep so he will be a happy, healthy baby, Right now he stays so cranky during the day because of lack of sleep at night...not to mention I am irritable with others because I'm up every 2 hours at night and I don't have enough energy to keep up all day.

  • My 5 month old won't sleep...help please?!?

OK so my son had a rough start...he was born 2 weeks early probably b/c I stayed so stressed out during my pregnancy, he had colic, acid reflux, double ear infection which one ear was real bad. So I understand his struggle and despite all of this he use to sleep good at night only waking twice for feedings.

Now he wakes up all through the night, sometimes to eat and sometimes just to be put back to sleep. I have been told by his pedi to let him CIO and also a lot of my friends have agreed. I just need sleep! As does he because during the day he is a lil monster from lack of sleep at night, I just want him to sleep so he can be a happy baby.

Anyone had/have this issue? Any advice? Maybe some ideas about your routines?

  • CIO? For moms that are ok with it...?

My son is 4 months now and had colic and he has been passed that for about a month now, but for the first 3 months of his life I held him almost 24/7 and never let him cry, well now he is ok and he will fight his sleep so when I put him down in his crib for naps or at night he fusses, should I let him fuss until he goes to sleep or stand at his crib for 15-20 minutes rubbing his forehead and patting him??

  • My chihuahua just started crying and....?

she hasn't stopped for about a week now, she cries periodically during the day and will round up all her babies (stuffed animals) and lay with them, if she picks up and moves, they go with her. This is strange to me. Anyone have/had this happen before??

  • can my sons formula not affect him for a month?

at birth my son was put on prosobee and seemed fine but started to be a fuss around 3 weeks old. He always has gas and fusses all day, the doctor doesn't seem to be concerned. I couldn't take it anymore, my mom is a nurse and said I should change his formula (He is now 3 months) and my grandma also said I should change it ( to nuetramigen, I was on it as a baby). He seemed fine a few weeks after he was born on the formula...is it possible for it to not affect him right away??

  • My baby is so fussy all the time?!?!?

My son just turned 3 months old and he is very fussy, he use to have bad gas but he has out grown that pretty much. He sleeps ok at night but when we wake up so when the problems begin! I feed him, play with him for 20-30 minutes then he will start to fuss so I try to get him to nap by puting him in his swing (sometimes he will fall asleep in the swing but I have to stand with him and keep shhh-ing and make sure his paci doesn't fall out), down in his bed, in his little cradle, etc. and if he doesn't wake up as soon as I lay him down he will after a few minutes. I have tried to let him cry it out but he cried for 8 min and I picked him up...he seems fine as long as Im holding him, I don't believe anything is wrong with him medically...I think he just doesn't sleep and gets too tired and becomes beside himself....Anyone relate to this?? It seems like if im not holding him he's not happy and cries..I can't get anything done, I have tried the Moby and that didn't work.
