  • sudden infertility onset?

I have 3 kids. Have always gotten pregnant very first month. I am 28, husband is 30. We've been ttrying for number 4 for 7 months. Sex frequency hasn't changed since after number 2. I know it hasn't even been a year, but it is 7x longer for me. Thoughts on causes of sudden infertility?

  • Confused about facebook friendlist ?

What does it mean when (I am not involved in this it is about two friends of mine on facebook), when looking from my log in on Julie's (names changed) friend list it shows that Ashley is a friend. On Ashley's friend list Julie is nowhere to be seen. Isn't that weird? I'm just wondering if Ashley somehow deleted Julie from her friendlist or something? What would cause this? Again, this is a view from my own profile as there friend. I have not logged into either of their profiles to see if the outcome happens to be the same.

    Thanks!

  • Recurring sore throat, fairly severe pain, keeps coming back!?

I have this painful sore throat. It all started in March, about 2 months ago. I lost my voice almost completely. That went away after 5 days or so. A few weeks later I had a little sore throat, and that one went away. Then, most recently I was sick with a cold that came along with a painful sore throat. At that point, I was wondering if I had strep separately from the cold. I went in for a throat culture which was negative. My cold went away, no runny nose or phlegm or cough. However my sore throat comes every few days. Very painfully. It hurts worse when I swallow. I would say for me the pain is a 6/7 out of 10 when I swallow. I seem to be losing my voice more easily as well.

I have allergies to dust mites, but they have never bothered me like this before. I have a penicilin allergy, unrelated to this. Dog hair can be a small bother for my throat as can second-hand smoke, but I haven't been around either enough recently.

You should know I have no tonsils. They were removed about 8 years ago. The sore throat pain reminds me of the sore throats i often got before they were removed. And the pain is raw like how my throat felt right away post-surgery.

I have no spots in my throat, just redness.

Again, I have no symptoms now but a sore throat. Actually, today I have had a little bit of right ear pain come and go in waves. But no cold. My sore throat is driving me crazy and I feel I'm not able to talk to my children!! Please help me. My fear in my wildest imagination is throat cancer, but that is doubtful.

    Thank you:)

  • Pregnancy with an IUD, or not?

I had my IUD place in October 2008, shortly after my second child was born. November 2008 (going on 2 years!) is the last time I had ANY speck of spotting or bleeding. I take pregnancy tests occasionally to rule it out. Last weekend I had some really really light brown spotting, and a little bit of pink spotting. Didn't even really need a panty liner for it. I got all excited and thought that I was having implantation bleeding.

Then, on Tuesday, (2 days later) I had bright red blood come out onto my underwear, maybe 1/2 teaspoon. I put in a tampon just in case. I had just another 1/2 teaspoon of brown blood and then it stopped. (It lasted maybe 20 minutes). My fear was that it was too much to be implantation bleeding and that I miscarried. But I checked all the blood and there were absolutely NO clots. Normally I would write all that off as a strange period--but I have had absolutely no bleeding for like 2 years!

On wednesday morning I woke up with a bad headache and nausea. I threw up once, and my nausea slowly began to subside throughout the day. I have been queasy off and on for the past few days, mostly in the mornings and late evening/nights.

I thought I was pregnant, until Tuesday. Since then I haven't "had a feeling" that I'm pregnant anymore.:(

    So here are my questions:

Are the symptoms of pregnancy the same with an IUD?

Has anyone had NO PERIODS OR SPOTTING with and IUD for a long period of time and then all of the sudden HAD PERIODS OR SPOTTING and why was that?

Could that blood on Tuesday still have been implantation bleeding?

Even though I no longer "have a feeling" I am pregnant, could I still be? Basically, have you ever had a feeling you weren't when you were?

I'm not an idiot by the way. I am taking a prenancy test in the morning so no "take a pregnancy test" nonsense. I have 2 kids, I know how this works. I know that's the way to find out. I also have doctor's appointment for a week from today to have my IUD checked out. I just want to know your personal experience/opinions any way.

    Thanks in advance!:)

  • Why was Lindsey Williams deleted from wikipedia?

I really don't know who Lindsey Williams is, my guess is a controversial (conspiracy theorist?) old reporter from what I can gather. But what I want to know is what would cause wikipedia to delete him from the wikipedia website? Anyone know?

  • 21-month old son not saying any words, or understanding language/listening to directions at all?

My son will be 2 years old on September 6th. He has said the word bye and ball before, but it's rare. I think he occasionally says mama and dada. He does babble a lot, however. Of more concern is that he doesn't respond to language. He doesn't respond to directions at all. Doesn't even look when we call his name (he used to by the way), can't point to any animal in a picture or his feet or nose or anything. His hearing has been tested just a few months ago- and is good. He loves to run around with my 3-year-old daughter, dance to music, and spin in circles, (oh, and climb on the table :)) He allows me to hold him, unless he wants to get down and play, and he giggle etc. I have two brothers with aspergers syndrome (a form of autism) but I'm not so sure about that because he seems alright social, though maybe not on target. My 3-year-old daughter is developmentally delayed (fine motor skills, speech, and cognitive). Her language understanding is good, however. I'm wondering if my son could have a speech and language disorder perhaps? Or, does anyone think this still could be a form of autism? I don't really think so... (he will be seeing the doctor about this by the way...just curious)...

    Thanks everyone!

  • Potty Training: What about teaching a GIRL to aim her pee into the potty?

I am currently potty training my daughter. She is doing pretty well so far, as good as can be expected. Only problem is, she doesn't know how to aim. She sits on the potty and doesn't know how to position her body so that the pee goes into the toilet instead of outward and all over the place and on the floor. Anyone have an idea for this? I tried to search the internet, but, of course everything about aiming was teaching boys to go standing up. I'm not so sure a cheerio will work in this instance.

    Thanks all!

  • 7 month old son--fever 3 and 1/2 days, starting to cough...watching out for swine flu just in case...?

My son is seven months old. He has had a fever since Saturday afternoon. On saturday and sunday it was about 101-102. On monday I took him into the doctors office (48 hours, 7 months)...He had no viewable symptoms whatsoever except for fever and fussiness, his fever @ the docs was 103.5 The doctor asked twice ot confirm he did not have a cough (so he did not have to test for swine flu) They did a urine and a blood lab and the doc confirmed it to most likely be a viral flu. This morning I was relieved to find that the fever had gone away (rectal of 99.somthing) But around lunch time it came back and this afternoon/evening he has started coughing (just five times or so in the couple hours)..he has muscle weakness (lack of energy, playing less than usual) and lack of appetite for baby food, (wanting more breast milk ate no baby food any days) I do not want to be too concerned yet or over concern myself...I live in Minnesota--the Swine flu outbreaks which are confirmed are definitely far from here. But my daughter has a docs appointment (checkup/shots) on Thursday. If he has a fever still it will be over 5 days and I will ask the doctor there (doctor said on monday to bring him in again after 5 days of fever)....in the mean time what I want to know is: if you were in this situation how many days of fever AND cough would you put up with before calling/seeing a doctor?? (just for personal advice) and/or how much coughing should he be doing (do you think) before that would concern you??

He is seven months old so obviously there is no way to tell so much sore throat, headache.....he has no runny noise or sneezing or vomiting...diarhea hard to tell b/c he has gone back to breast milk only the past few days which is liquid anyway.....so who's to know there?

    Any advice?

  • Test results negative, what could this be?

I know I wrote a book, but please read it if you can help!

I have had 4 or so UTIs and one kidney infection, and also ovarian cysts in the past. On Saturday I began to get low pelvic pain which quickly became accompanied with back pain, sharp or stabbing. The pain would come and go. I have been urinating frequently at night the past few weeks, but without pain. I was convinced I was coming up with another kidney infection (I had a full blown kidney infection for 2 whole weeks a few years abo and wasn't going to face that again, vomiting, fever, the works) so I went to the ER (urgent care was closed) saturday evening. They tested my urine for pregnancy and uti/kidney infection bacteria by way of urinalysis. I was also tested for PID, and a yeast infection. All results were negative. When he did the internal exam he pressed for sensitivity on the right ovary, cervix, and left ovary. The right and cervix felt fine, but when the left ovary was pressed on it hurt. The doctor was pretty much completely sure I had an ovarian cyst on my left side at this point, and asked if I wanted the ultrasound that night. I declined, and instead went in for the ultrasound today. I had my follow-up appointment a few hours later with a different doctor (gyno). The results of the ultrasound were also normal, despite the doctor's surety of a cyst. The doctor today seemed puzzled, as was I. I said maybe it was passed, but he said not to ignore any symptoms and to watch what happens and come in again if I need to. Today between 8am and 5pm I used the bathroom nine times, every single hour, and again at 7pm and 9:30 pm. I have not increased my water intake, and when I do go I am not urinating enough to indicate a full bladder. I am still experiencing some left side back pain (inside pain) every now and then, which I seem to feel more often when sitting down. If any one has experienced this or is a nurse, or has any ideas please, please reply!! I do not want to get sick (kidney infection) if it is a UTI! Thank you!!

  • Can early pregnant signs come without physical signs?

I have been incredibly moody lately, I am breaking out on my cheeks, which I never do, and have been feeling depressed. This is way more extreme than my pms usually is. As far as periods go i am not so sure where I'm at, i have an IUD inserted right now but my husband and I are way fertile, we got pregnant with a condom for my second child. I am still breastfeeding, and haven't noticed sensitive boobs, but my tummy seems so bloated. It seems like pms but more severe. Can IUDs do that? B/c my son is 4 months old and I don't want to be pregnant right now!

  • Positive TB skin test, normal chest x-ray, no treatment? Should the rest of us be checked?

My husband just began nursing school and so he had a TB skin test this week. The test came back positive after 72 hours, and he went to urgent care. (I was not with him.) They checked him in stat and gave him a chest x-ray which came back normal. He seemed to be under the impression that he was fine and they were not sure why the skin test was positive (he said they said it was borderline positive or something like that). However, after some research it sounds like latent TB to me. But shouldn't the doctor's have atleast explained that to him if they suspected it? Could the positive skin test have been false? I realize it does not necessarily have to be treated when it's latent, but shouldn't they have informed him of it, or even offered treating him since he will be working in a clinic? My main question (I know these are questions for a doctor, i'm not dumb, but i want your opinions and experience) is whether me and my 2 children should be tested. None of us have HIV or Drink at all or anything and we are in a very healthy environment. My children are 18 months and 2 months old. Any thoughts on these 50 questions?? (lol!)

  • FMLA leave, high risk pregnancy question, Please Help!?

I have been on bedrest (preterm labor, 5cm dilated), from July 27th. I went to the FMLA website and found out that my bedrest and postpartum can be together for my 12 weeks of maternity leave--meaning my 12 weeks of FMLA began on July27th and so depending on when he is born I may run out of my 12weeks before 6 weeks postpartum. My work only gives up to 12 weeks for FMLA leave--but doctor's excuse for pregnancy until 6 weeks postpartum. So, my question is do you know, or do you think it is possible for me to just ask off regular time from work continued on (I am payed hourly, and work only part time)? I mean, if a doctor says I cannot work until 6 weeks post partum but i hit my 12 weeks of leave only 1 week after delivery, can my employer fire me for not returning since my 12 weeks that FMLA gives me are up?

  • 34 Weeks, is this normal? Anyone else experienced this?

I am extremely tired most all the time, except for maybe a few hours of the day. I sleep for 8 hours at night, and then every day I take a four-hour long nap, for a total of 12 hours of sleep each day and I still feel tired. Here are my stats if anyone thinks any of this could be factor:

-I found out in the beginning of my pregnancy that I have a low thyroid, which causes extreme fatigue, but i am on medication for it which I am taking everyday, so unless my dosage needs to be increase, or if it is b/c i haven't been taking it in the morning lately...

-I am on bedrest--trying to keep busy but not sure if this is part of why i am so tired

-I am dilated to 5cm and having a number of contractions each day sometimes for many hours (they are not dilating me, I've been checked) but not sure if any of that could be wearing out my body

I do have a doctor's appointment in the morning I will bring it up at...but I was just wondering if anyone has experienced this or has any thoughts. Any help at all would be appreciated.

    Thanks a bunch!

  • Could this be a form of contractions? Please Answer!?

I started having painless regular contractions about an hour ago. I get these everyday (i'm dilated to 5cm already, i'm 33 weeks) but they haven't been dilating me any further.

The problem is about 10 minutes ago I started getting a powerful painful sideache-like pain on my right side, but higher up than a normal running sideache. It comes and goes in shots of pain, that are pretty painful and make me cry out in pain. When the pain comes and is there, if i push on my stomach where it hurts it hurts worse, like a bruise. The pains comes and goes like a contraction but I haven't noticed if my stomach is getting hard along with them, but before the pain i was having contractions every 3-5 minutes.

I really need an answer if you've experienced this since I am already prematurely dilated to 5cm! thanks a bunch!!!!

  • 33 Weeks, 5 cm dilated--I need words of comfort!

Here's what's up: I went into labor 2 weeks ago with my son. I dilated to 5 cm...but I did not know it until I went into my doctor's appointment that day. You see I dilated all the way to a five with completely painless contractions. With my daughter last year, who was also premature, I dilated from the point of 3 cm up to 5 cm, without even feeling my contractions.

Here is what is going on tonight--I have a prescription medication that I take to help stop my contractions which have been helping. Tonight I took it after I noticed two contractions. It has been 3 hours and the pills have not helped stop them. The thing is--they are like before...regular...only every 10 minutes (and they have been every 5 min. before when i've gotten them so that is weird), but again, always painless. The doctors sent me home saying to come back if they are closer than 5 minutes together or if they get anymore painful, even though I have dilated without pain. They said this b/c I have gone in w/contraction coming every 5mins apart with no pain since 2 weeks ago and my dilation is still at 5 cm. ....so I can't really go to the doctor's office right now. I do not necessarily feel like this is dilating me, but i didn't think they were 2 weeks ago either. If they get closer than 5mins. or painful I will go in. In the meantime I can take a new pill to stop them at 3am. If they do not stop by morning, even if they are 10 minutes apart i think i will call and go in. The last 2 have been 5 mins. though....

So sorry this is a novel!! I guess what I am looking for is what you all think? i Just want some personal opinions--i'm looking for comfort that this could all be okay. Thank you so much!!!

  • Does this mean I'm going to give birth within the next week or so?

I went into labor a week and a half ago. I am currently real close to completely effeced and 5cm dilated. I am only 32 weeks pregnant. The doctors have me on bed rest. The same situation happened with my daughter last year--i went into labor at 32 weeks but kept her in until 36 weeks.

However, this time my contractions have come back every 2 days. They sent me home last with a presciption to help stop contractions, which seems to help at least for the first 4-5 hours on the medication. My biggest concern is that I have gassy cramps more lately, and more BMs than usual which are also softer than usual. i can't remember this happening with my daughter at all. Does this mean that the baby will be coming in the next week or do you think I still have a good chance of keeping him in 4 more weeks like with my daughter?
