since everyone's really trying to "scale down" for christmas this year..I thought about doing "family gift baskets"..I still want to try to incorporate a little something for each person, but then things that everyone can use..I thought about movies, candy, coffee, picture frames..things like that..what other cool unique things can you think of..2 families..husband/wife 2 boys, 3 boys..ages 5-13..thanks~

I want honest opinions here..like what would you think, if you showed up and saw this:

An ALL Dessert Reception??!! I am having a Saturday night Outside October Wedding in Texas. I'll put on the invitations of course, "Dessert Reception to Follow". The "food" will be in a all glass pavillion, so I wont have to worry about anything melting or anything..This is what I'm thinking:

1. Both Bride/Groom Cakes

2. Candy Bar w/ personalized take home boxes for favors

3. Build your own Sundae Bar

4. An assortment of cookies, w/ old fashioned glass milk jugs

5. Milk/White chocolate fountains, w/ a wide choice of dipping things (fruit, marshmellows, pretzels, etc..)

5. Bite size pies/chessecakes (pecan, apple, pumpkin, assort. of cheesecakes)

6. Fruit, cheese, cracker spread for those that don't want "sweets"

7. Coffee, Punch, Dessert Wine, Water, Milk w/ cookies

Honost opinions..I don't want people to say, "Where's all the food, I came to a wedding for FOOD!" I want UNIQUE!

Need opinions and advice on the best beach destinations..with so many choices out there, hard to make a decision. Know we want beautiful beach, but with other activites..Around US, too expensive to go too far. Would like people to answer who have actually gone, and where did you stay..??

Everyone is so fast and great with their answers. I have just now changed my wedding colors. Wedding in Oct. I am now going to do choc. brown & Mango (orange/pink). Does anybody have any pictures of flowers/decorations?? What colors would also go best? Having an outside fall wedding, but don't want it fall harvest themed..ya know with scarecrows and pumpkins.. Neither groom nor I drink. We don't agree on having alcohol. Saturday night reception..is it horrible to have a "cash bar"..would you be offended if you came to a night wedding and had to pay for your own alcohol?? Or would you be happy that it was there, and you had the option to drink or not by paying for it??

I'm getting married Oct. 25. That's approx. 8 months. I want to lose weight before I go "dress shopping". I'm thinking I should start in June/July. I still plan on losing more after then, and having last minute alterations done in early oct. Do you think that's to early? late? Also, I have a strong idea of what style I want, strapless/pickup skirt style with a chapel length train, but I wonder if anyother style will look better once I start trying them on. How did you choose your style? Did you try on different ones? I'm pretty sure I'll know what I don't like..but I don't want to miss out on something I might love better..HELP!!

Ok, Neither Groom and I drink. BUT We are having a Saturday Night Outside Wedding & Reception/Dance Inside. Pretty Fancy. "Heavy hors d'oeuvres" served buffet style. I thought etiquette wise, people would expect to have alcohol provided. I want beer and wine, groom doesn't b/c he feels people shouldn't come (just for the alcohol) to have a good time. He also doesn't want the responsibility of being the "provider" if something bad happens to one of the guests or someone else on the way home. I just feel people would have a better time and stay longer perhaps if alcohol was served. We have to be out of the venue by 10:30, so it's not like it's going to be an all out drunken brawl..what do you think? Advice PLEASE!!

Outdoor Night Wedding in October. Bridesmaids dresses cobalt blue. Inside decor chocolate brown. Flowers white, red, yellow, w/ greenery tied w/ chocolate brown ribbon. Also would like the "suit look" instead of the traditional tux..what color for the tux then, HELP!

We are having 6 each for sure, but groom wants to add 2 more, and doesn't want them to be ushers. Both are unmarried childhood long friends, and I know they'd want him as a groomsman in theirs. I don't really have 2 more girls that I would want to ask. I'm 28-Groom's 30.

I know the rooms and food do, but what about water things, like the pools, waterpark, aquarium, comedy club, movie theatre?

Checked for pkg. for the Cove it was around $2500. How about prices for food?? Is everything free once your there? Beach, waterslides, aquarium, pools???/
