My 2 year old hit her head! What should I look for?
Hi, I have a 2 year old little girl and she was just bouncing around on the couch and took a really hard fall into the coffee table. Like side of the head first straight onto the ledge of the table before she hit the ground and i grabbed her. She immediately got a large bump and split her head a little, not to bad. But it is bleeding =[ She cried for about 10 minutes, about three of those minutes she was screaming her head off. I feel so bad, is there anything I should look for to make sure she's okay? She seems to be acting normally now. Just cuddling with me a lot more! Thank you!

2 AnswersEntertaining10 years agoincrease in spirit activity?
So I also was a little skeptical of this. But There is definitely an increase in paranormal activity at my mothers house. It started off with little things (when i used to live there). Such as, just me being home alone and the back sliding glass door opening on its own, i would be in my room & go out to the living room and the sliding door that led to the back living room would be open, it happened 3 times in one night. Also radios & lights turning on when nobody is around. But recently my aunt has done 3 EVP's in the bedroom that most activity has been occurring and with every attempt to communicate with the spirit & ask why it is here, activity has gotten worse (you can CLEARLY hear the breathing and speech of a man & woman in the EVP's) one of which the woman says "why don't you just go". Since then there has been tapping on doors, tapping on people when they are asleep and waking them, Loud bangs and nothing has fallen, Clear footsteps throughout the house, moaning. It all seems to have increased since my aunt tried communicating with the spirit. And it isn't a friendly one. SORRY this is so long... but what could be some of the reasons why this spirit is getting more active? Its kind of spooky, But i just wish someone could explain all this........
6 AnswersMythology & Folklore1 decade agoWhen did everyone start giving there baby cereal in their bottles?
I have a 12 week old little girl, and I was just wondering when everybody started giving there baby's a little bit of cereal in the bottle? My mom & aunties said they started around 4 months. My little angel just doesn't seem satisfied with her formula anymore, She's just eating so much! Sometimes she drinks a 6oz bottle after 6oz bottle and then 2 more oz. Which is a lot of ounces for a 11 and a half pound baby girl. Any advice? Thank you!
16 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoBaby's poop changed when i switched formula?
For the past week and a half I have been dealing with a very colicky 18 day old baby! So i need a few suggestions. I first started her off breast feeding, but my breasts just couldn't keep up with the amount and feeding and ending up drying up. SO I put my newborn on Similac Soy, Which seemed to work for a little while then she started getting really bad colic around 8pm every night. I figured she had a soy allergy and switched her to Nestle Good start gentle formula (milk based) , And that proved to be even worse! She has been on that for 3 days now and her colic has gotten much worse, lasting up to 9 hours at a time. I can tell she is in horrible pain and now she has a lot of trouble going poopy, & when she finally does.. instead of being "soft, yellow, and seedy" like normal, its like a pale yellow and its just one clump of poop. It seems like it is very painful for her & her little belly is always making bubbly gassy sounds and i can't handle when she is in pain =[ So is that poop change normal? Or the change in colic intensity? I feel like she may have a cows milk allergy, Im going to try an organic soy formula next, if that doesn't work i just don't know! (PS. mylecon, & gripe water have been unsuccessful in relieving any pain or symptoms for her). So any suggestions? The pediatrician is closed today and tomorrow so for now the people of yahoo are going to have to help!
(& also i have tried Enfamil Gentlease, but that also seemed like it wasn't the best on her belly)
2 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoBaby's umbilical cord fell off, How to clean belly button?
So i have a 12 day old baby, and I have cleaned her everyday just by damping a cloth and wiping her down because her umbilical cord was still on, and thats what the hospital told me to do. But it fell off today! So i was wondering, is it okay now to actually get her belly wet and stuff? And her belly button is a little gross since the cord fell off (a few minutes ago) should i clean it out? & what should i clean it with? Im just afraid it will hurt her.. Sorry Im a first timer at this mommy thing, thank you!
16 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoDoes the umbilical cord bother my baby?
Weird question, but Im a first time mommy so bare with me! I have a 12 day old baby and I was wondering, when i squeeze the alcohol on her umbilical cord does it hurt her? Because she sure screams at me like it hurts, or maybe she's just screaming because the alcohol is cold and it makes her angry? Also, My boyfriend just changed her diaper and we noticed that it is like almost off, its just hanging there by a gross gooey string, i guess you could say. Should we just leave it and keep putting on the alcohol 3 x's a day till it just falls completely off? Oh goodness, baby's baby's baby's =]
Thank you!
7 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoNew born wont stop throwing up? Or crying.?
So i have a week old baby girl, & today has been just awful. Well actually the past 2 days, it seems like she is throwing up EVERYTHING that goes in her stomach. She is on Symilac Soy, She can't have regular formula because it makes her sick. Im just confused because if it is the formula that is upsetting her stomach then why hasn't it upset her stomach the past week? Just the past 2 days? She won't stop crying and she has also had 6 poopy diapers within the past 3 hours, that is quite a bit. Im so confused, any advice?

12 AnswersBaby Names1 decade ago39 weeks... baby's movement?
Well I am 39 weeks tomorrow. I noticed that last night @ work i wasn't feeling my baby move as much as usual. I figured I would see if she would start moving when i came home & ate something.. Well she still wasn't moving much.. I went to sleep, usually in the middle of the night she wakes up and kicks like crazy! But last night.. she didn't and this morning.. i haven't felt any yet. Im having a feeling i should get her amniotic fluids checked?( Especially since i had a dream last night that i had an ultra sound, & the doctor said her fluids were low ) If i do decide i really should go.. should i go to my doctors office, or the labor and delivery unit at the hospital?
PS. I understand baby's movement slows down towards the end. But my baby hasn't changed movement patterns this much before, she usually stays pretty frequent with movements. And such a dramatic change in pattern usually doesn't happen overnight.
9 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoSlip covers for LARGE couches!!!!?

So is anyone has had this issue, or maybe you know a good place to get slipcovers. please let me know. thank yoU!
2 AnswersDecorating & Remodeling1 decade agoMucus plug? Im pretty sure i lost it?
Im 38 weeks pregnant, & tonight at work i went to the bathroom and when i wiped there was this snot like stuff covering the toilet paper.. it was super "snotty like" & gooey. I've been having cramps all day too, similar to period cramps. Now i've heard that that's what your mucus plug looks like, except mine was not "blood tinged" it was just clear, & there was A LOT of it. I went to the bathroom earlier today like 10 times and this "mucus" wasn't there.. But after it started coming out, i went to the bathroom 2 more times & it was still coming out! Haha, so im guessing this is my mucus plug? Maybe it was not whole thing since there was no blood? & also, it doesn't mean i am going into labor anytime soon right? like it could be 2 weeks from now, could be 2 days, Just depends on the pregnancy/woman right?!
6 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoAm i supposed to feel Braxton Hicks?
Im 37 weeks pregnant, and i just don't EVER feel contractions. My baby moves just fine, she's very active. But i just remember always having contractions when i was in my 20-30 weeks of pregnancy, now when i think i should be having even more, i am just not having ANY! Is this normal? I've been having sex to try and get those contractions going to help me dilate... no help. & i work as a waitress 5 days a week, i used to always get contractions while @ work.. but not anymore. Which makes me think my baby might be overdue, because if im not contracting, that means i am not going to dilate as fast, right? Anyways... is this normal?
3 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoKey Lime Pie? Question.?
Hi! I just whipped my momma up a Key lime pie for her birthday, I followed the ingredients exactly "by the book", i poured it into the pie crust, but it seems a bit watery? or liquidy i guess you could say.. Will it settle in the refrigerator & get harder like it is supposed to? And if so, how long does that take? I am supposed to bring the pie to her house later. Thank you, this is my first time making anything like this, so im clueless!
4 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoI cant tell if my water is leaking or not?
Alright, Im 37 weeks pregnant.. This question sounds a little TMI, but if you've been pregnant before then you'll understand i hope! Yesterday & today I have had almost like a small "gush" of really watery like fluids come out when i sit up fast or change sitting position, the fluids don't have a scent really at all, i've heard water smells sweet? But maybe thats not the same for everyone? No its not pee, its not coming from that area. Its coming out of my vagina. & i still have regular discharge, which has been a lot more thick than usual, aside from the "watery gushes" every once in a while. It hasn't been a constant thing though.. Only twice today so far, and maybe 3 times yesterday. Im sorry this is such a confusing/awkward question to ask.. Thanks! Ps if you do think it could be my water, what should i do? Its saturday, so the doctors office is closed, & the ER will probably think im a nut job if i go in there saying "i think my water is leaking". Advice?
7 AnswersPregnancy1 decade ago36 weeks pregnant, baby's movement?
Im almost 36 weeks pregnant, this is my first baby so bare with me!
Tuesday i went to the doctors for my weekly check up, the doctor said everything was okay but when i heard the baby's heartbeat it sounded different than usual. Just slower really, but the nurse practitioner said that it was fine, it could have just been the way "She was laying in my belly" or she could be "sleeping" ? Does this sound right? & to add to that, this morning i had some pretty awful cramps, almost period like.. And the baby's movement hasn't been as regular as usual today, Like.. She is moving, but not as much as she usually does i guess i could say. Does this sound like something i should be really concerned about? Should i call the doctor in the AM if her movement doesn't return back to normal? Thank you so much! Sorry its so long!
