carpet guy

For the past 2 months our 18 month male golden retriever (not fixed) won't eat beside our 2 & 1/2 year old female golden retriever (fixed) . If we move the bowl, with hesitation, he will eat. He is an active dog, but since it's gotten colder, we don't take him for long runs, like in the summer. We're wondering if it is a dominace thing, or if we should decrease his food. We've already decreased it a little bit, which he didn't mind, but there was no change. The dogs get along extremely well. They have never growled at each other over food or anything else.
