My best friend and I are planning to have a joint birthday celebration for our 21st birthday and can't seem to find decorations or a theme to go with the chosen colors (pink, black and silver) can anyone help???

When communicating with people on the mainland (U.S) they are shocked to find out I am from the USVI.

Common questions or comments I am faced with are:

1. Do you have cars?

2. Do you live in trees?

3. OMG You can speak English!

4. OMG! You attend an University in the...........VIRGIN ISLANDS?!?!

5. You must be amongst the houshold with highest income because you speak English very well.

6. What language do you speak, it sounds so pretty.

7. You have computers?

8. You have electricty?

9. Are you from Jamaica?

10. Last but not least. Can you say that again?

I know I have an accent and when I am amongst family I tend to speak how I would at home in my dialect or Creole which ever you chose to call it and it's quite irrtating to hear people say these things. So my question is why?

I have been assigned to this project and one of the students placed ole miss as one of thier choices. I had hell finding out it was actually the university of miss. tell me how it got its name
