So, you want to know about me, do you? I hope I don't bore you. My main field is computers and the Internet. I used to do software quality assurance testing, and still have excellent skills there. I currently do programming, and my weapon of choice is Ruby on Rails. I am also studying reverse engineering and infosec. I have done extensive research in the legal side of things, such as the DMCA and Copyright laws. I have studied the copyright and patent laws from around the world, including the United States, United Kingdom, the European Union, and India. I also love music. I love listening to it and creating an atmosphere with it. It's really hard to describe all the aspects that go into it. I play the viola, and I also hope to make music with my friend sometime soon. Aside from that, I'm a gamer. I play mostly first-person shooters, but don't let that define me. I also play Minecraft, StarCraft, and several other games. I enjoy tactical and creative games.
What does the second month in a date range mean?
This has been an unclear concept for me for a long time. I'm making my resume, and I'm trying to be professional and consistent.
Say I have a date range for the period of time during which I worked for a company: December 2011 to December 2012. It's obvious that the first month in the range is the entire month (starting at December 1, 2011). However, I've found inconsistent results on what the second month means. Does it also mean the entire month, or does it mean "to the beginning of December 2012"?
In addition to that, there are situations where I started or stopped working somewhere sometime in the middle of a month (exact dates are mostly unknown). How, if at all, would I indicate that?
2 AnswersOther - Education7 years agoWhy isn't Google accessible right now?
When I tried to load google.com today, it timed out every time (on Firefox, it says that it couldn't contact the server at google.com). I have tried every common solution there is. Searches on any of the other search engines will not bring up anything relating to Google server problems that are happening TODAY. Is it just my computer, or is there a legitimate problem with Google's servers? I have included some useful information and posting guidelines (like what the best answer will be) below.
Here is some [very] basic diagnostic information that will help:
Computer: MacBook Pro (not really helpful information, but still necessary to post)
Operating System: Mac OSX 10.6.4 (Snow Leopard)
Browser1: Mozilla Firefox v3.5.13
Browser2: Safari v5.0.2
Network Type: Wireless [password required]
Encryption/Authentication: WPA2 Personal
Connection Status: Local and Internet (from observations)
I have tried every common solution there is, and am running out of ideas (computer-savvy people will know what the common solutions are).
I don't like proxies, but will use them if I have to. In any case, these did not work here.
I opened up the Terminal (Mac's command prompt, basically) and did (and received) the following:
~ root: $ ping www.google.com
ping: cannot resolve www.google.com: Unknown host
Here are some posting guidelines:
The best answer that I will select will likely be in the form of a solution or workaround, or an accurate description of what is going on. If it is a solution, please make it into a replicateable process with numbered steps (this makes it so much easier to read). It will also not say "I was able to access it just fine," or "it must be some sort of virus" (trust me, I would know instantly if there was a virus on either of my two computers - Mac and PC).
Keep your answers to the point. I don't like reading on computer screens.
8 AnswersGoogle1 decade agoBalanced Combustion Equation?
I've been working for hours on this and have not come to a solution to this "problem". I need the following equations balanced, and I need the answers posted as soon as possible. The answers are nowhere on the web, to my disappointment.
first equation:
The combustion of C17H21O4N
second:
The combustion of C12H22011
