I have two siblings A & B who do not get along well. B harbors a lot of resentment against A. A lives a long way off and visits twice a year. B and I are very close or so I thought. A came for Mardi Gras and B said not to count on him to participate.

A and I asked B to go to a parade and B agreed until A said they didn't want to wait for B to get off of work. B is always late. B became angry and refused to go. Then A suggested we meet at the parade. B didn't answer and wouldn't speak to us afterward.

So we went without sibling B. I was hurt, worried and uncomfortable. I don't want B to be angry at me for going, but I only see A 2x a year. If I didn't go with A she would have had to go to the parade alone. I did not say anything to smooth things over because B wasn't going to back down. Now B is out with a mutual friend and did not invite either of us to go with him.

I'm really not angry, just hurt. I am really hurt by this because I don't think I contributed anything to this chaos. A is hurt, feels unwanted here like the trip has inconvienced me, (it hasn't), and put a rift between B and I. This is just horrible for me and has ruined yet another holiday. Any advice or something to make me feel less off kilter? I feel like I've lost my best friend.
