  • Top line of Onscreen itouch Keyboard - does not work?

I recently purchased a 16GB ipod touch and the top line of the onscreen keyboard does not work. I have tried it in most applications (nothing web based because I cannot enter security keys with this limitation) and not only does the unit not rotate in most applications but it also does not have a functioning keyboard (on screen). The second and third lines work fine but the entire top does not.

I have reset it and restored it and nothing has helped this. Any ideas on what to try?

  • Allergies in Thailand?

I am travelling to Thailand with my girlfriend in a week and she is allergic to Peanuts and Egg. I am looking to find somewhere that has a confirm translation for common phrases such as:

    - I am severely allergic to Peanuts. No Peanuts near my food please.

    - I am very allergic to Eggs. No Egg in my food please

Peanut allergy is fairly common so I have found a couple places with various translations, but I have not found the egg one. does anybody know where I can get these?

  • Koh Lanta - Ancient Realm Resort?

Does anybody have any insight into Ancient Realm Resort & Spa? I am very close to booking one of their Beach Front Villas for 13 nights in November/December but was curious about other points of view.

Let's have it: the good, the bad and the ugly. Thank you in advance for all replies.

  • Ancient Realm Resort & Spa?

Is there anybody out there that has experience staying at the Ancient Realm Resort & Spa in Koh Lanta? I am looking at one of the Beach Front Villas there for 2 weeks in November but am not quite sold on them. I am told by the resort that the Beach Front Villas are roughly 60 feet back from the sand but with nothing between them and the ocean other than foliage. Any feedback on the resort would be very much appreciated.

  • Kao Sok & Koh Lanta - Travelling & Attractions?

I will be visiting Thailand for three weeks in November 2009 and have some questions about where I can find information on the WWW.

Most of the first week will be spent at the Cliff & River Jungle Resort in Kao Sok for the wedding. I need to find a place where I can arrange for a bus (or train or some ride) for us to get from the Cliff & River to Ancient Realm Resort & Spa on Koh Lanta. Do you know of any places where I can get prices on this and arrange for it online?

Next is my stay on Koh Lanta. I have a number of things that I would like to do but would really like to get a list of what people like to do there so that I can pick from that. Part of my trip will be spent Scuba Diving and the rest is what I am trying to sort out. I am hoping to get a list of what the resort offers for excursions, but it would be great to know where I can find the list of excursion costs.

Finally, what are reasonable prices for food on Koh Lanta? Is it reasonable to expect that we will eat lunch and dinner for an average of 850 BAHT total per person per day and get decent meals? We do not expect 7 course meals....we just want to eat well.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would love ANY websites that will get me specifics on any of these questions or any others that you just might want to offer. I have found some but it has been somewhat limited.

    Thank you

  • Photographer in Ottawa - What to do?

I wil be spending Family Day weekend in Ottawa and need something to do on Sunday. I am an amateur photographer and love my camera. Is there anything that you would recommend I do knowing that I love to take pictures? As long as it is not too cold, we can do outdoor activities. I look forward to any suggestions that you might have.

  • What are my "Must do while in Thailand" things?

I am planning a trip to Thailand for this coming November and need to plan accommodations.

The first 4 or 5 days will be at The Cliff and River Jungle Resort outside the Kao Sok National Park. This is where we are attending a wedding and we are not flexible on this part of the trip. Everything that follows we are flexible. When we leave there, we are considering going to Koh Lanta (Relax Bay Resort). Is this a good choice in your opinion? Where would you recommend? We will have approximately 11 days there when we will fly back to Bangkok and spend 2 days there before we fly back to Canada.

    My questions are as follows:

    1. Where would you recommend we stay on the Krabi/Ao Nang/Koh Lanta area?

    2. What MUST we do when here in south Thailand? The current plans are: Jungle Tour, Elephant Trek, Waterfall Tour, PhiPhi Island Tour, Scuba Diving, Tiger Cave, Thai Massage......what am I missing?

    3. What is a good place to stay in Bangkok? For both this and the previous, we are looking for good quality and comfort at a reasonable price (we are not cheap but still have to watch how much we spend).

    4. What MUST we do in Bangkok? I am hoping to get tons of great photography opportunities here and in the south.

I thank you for whatever you can offer me.

  • Baggage Surcharge finally?

Well, it looks as though American Airlines is the first airline to implement some sort of "fuel recovery" charge and it is coming in the form of a baggage charge. Look for the rest to follow suit very soon. YIKES!!!

  • Complete Travel Arranger for the Maldives?

I am considering a scuba diving vacation from Toronto (Canada) to the Maldives and am looking for input on some of the best "full service travel arrangers". I am looking to connect with travel arrangers that can put a complete package together including all airfare, all required transfers and many options for resorts. Does anybody out there have any suggestions? Next year I will either be in Phuket or Maldives.

    Thank you for your help.

I have looked at the following so far:

  • Web Design Program?

I have a website which is strictly for fun and nothing else so I am not looking to invest a whole lot into the design of it. The only program that I have found that I can use is the Yahoo program that came with the domain name (www.divingmyway.com). I am looking to get feedback on the best, most functional and least expensive software programs out there for web design. I would love to be able to put more features into the pages (like possibly frames) but the yahoo software is very basic (as you can tell from the site appearance).

Any feedback will be much appreciated (especially if links come with)

  • Furry Feline Dilemma Anybody?

A man absolutely hated his wife's cat and decided to get rid of it one day by driving him 2 miles from his home and leaving him at the park.

As he was getting home, the cat was walking up the driveway.

The next day he decided to drive the cat 4 miles away. He put it out again and headed home again.

Driving back up his driveway, there was the cat sitting on it's backside.

He kept taking the cat further and further and the cat would always beat him home.

At last he decided to drive 50 miles away, he turn right, then left, past the bridge, then right again and another right until he reached what he thought was a safe distance from his home and left the cat there.

Hours later the man calls home to his wife: "Honey, is the cat there?"

"Yes," the wife answers, "Why do you ask?"

Frustrated, the man answered, "Put that ****** on the phone, I'm lost and need directions!

  • Johnny gets older?

Johnny wanted to have sex with a girl,

but she belonged to someone else...

One day, Johnny got so frustrated that he said, "I'll give you a $100 if you let me

have sex with you. But the girl said NO.

Johnny said, "I'll be fast. I'll throw the money on

the floor, you bend down, and I'll be finished by the

time you pick it up. "

She thought for a moment and said that she would have

to consult her boyfriend... So she called her

boyfriend and told him the story.

Her boyfriend says, "Ask him for $200, pick up the

money very fast, he won't even be able to get his

    pants down."

So she agrees and accepts the proposal. Half an hour

goes by, and the boyfriend is waiting for his

    girlfriend to call.

Finally, after 45 minutes, the boyfriend calls and

    asks what happened.

She responded, "The bastard used coins!"

    Management Lesson:

Always consider a business proposal in its entirety before agreeing to it and getting screwed!

  • Sira Center (or Sierra Center)????

I heard about this really neat (architecturally speaking) building somewhere "on the wrong side of the tracks" (this is how they put it on the radio) in Philly. I do not know the correct spelling or anything so anyone that can give me the correct name and spelling would be helping me out. Thank you in advance.

  • Golf Lesson?

OK so a husband and wife were taking golf lessons to try and improve their game. At his first lesson, the Pro asked him to take his driver and hit the ball towards the green. The man lined up, gripped the club, swung and watched as the ball went about 100 yards and not straight.

The Pro says "You are gripping the club too hard. Try gripping it like you would your wife's breasts."

So the man steps up to the ball, adjusts his grip, swings and is surprised as the ball travels 250 yards straight down the fairway. He is eccstatic and tells his wife as soon as he gets home. The wife can now not wait for her lesson.

The Pro asks her to take her driver and hit the ball towards the green. She lines up, grips the club, swings and watchees the ball go about 100 yards and not straight.

  • Black Magic?

An old man and woman were married for many years, even though they hated each other. When they had a confrontation, screaming and yelling could be heard deep into the night.

The old woman would shout, "When I die, I will dig my way up and out of the grave and come back and haunt you for the rest of your life!"

Neighbors feared her They believed she practiced blackmagic because of the many strange occurrences that took place in their neighborhood.

The old woman liked the fact that she was feared. To everyone's relief, she died of a heart attack when she was 68.

He had a closed casket at the wake. After the burial, he went straight to the local bar and began to party as if there was no tomorrow.

His neighbors, concerned for his safety, asked,

"Aren't you afraid that she may indeed be able to dig her way up and out of the grave and come back to haunt you for the rest of your life?"

The Man put down his drink and said, "Let her dig."

"I had her buried upside down......."

Fifty-one years ago, Herman James, a North Carolina mountain man, was drafted by the Army. On his first day in basic training, the Army issued him a comb. That afternoon the Army barber sheared off all his hair. On his second day, the Army issued Herman a toothbrush. That afternoon the Army dentist yanked seven of his teeth. On the third day, the Army issued him a jock strap. The Army has been looking for Herman for 51 years.

  • Going to Cuba - Need Input?

First of all I am posting this here as well as in the Cuba section because the Cuba section does not seem to get a lot of attention. If you can offer me input I will be in your debt.

    ---------------

I am looking at a trip to Cuba in late June '08 and am ALL about the water. I need someplace with GREAT ocean since we are Scuba Divers. We will also snorkel in between so rough seas make a place less attractive.

I have heard Cayo Coco is the place to go but is this true? Any resorts to stay away from irrespective of what is on TripAdvisor? Input will be much appreciated.
