  • Planning a vacation to New Mexico, any ideas or guidance?

I've wanted to go to New Mexico now for awhile and am looking towards the Santa Fe area... will be traveling with my parents and my two toddlers (almost 3 and 4).

Really wanting a feel for 'New Mexico' and the history so any ideas on what to do while there? (My kids are REALLY into Cowboys and anything western.)

    Places to stay?

    Cool places to shop?

Planning on going in the Fall and am not familiar with the state's weather either so ANY info would be greatly appreciated! :)

Additional Info: Trying to figure out if it's cheaper to fly or drive... might just rent an excursion or something and drive ALL of us together (from WA State) so any ideas on what vehicle is good for a road trip and 3 adults + 2 kids would be helpful too. Never done this!

  • Can a spouse keep her ID card if Her husband was honorably discharged?

I have a friend whose husband received and a general under honorable discharge (Army), they asked for his ID card but never asked her to turn hers in. She keeps shopping on post obviously because she has it (who wouldn't), but was this an oversight? OR does she just get to keep it until it expires? She's been pretty cautious how often and how she uses it because she thinks it may be taken away...

  • Women with PIH or Preeclampsia, Swelling?

With my last pregnancy I had terrible swelling pretty much at every joint to every extremity, and now I am approaching 30 weeks with my second (pregnancies were back to back as well) and already starting to swell terribly in my hands, feet, and face and legs are blowing up as well and starting to not... well basically just not WORK! As well as my BP starting to rise. I was just wondering if any other women out there who had PIH or Preeclampsia had as bad of swelling as I seem to get and to the point of being painful and making your immobile? I'm not talking about fat though, I'm talking purely water. I'm 5'2" and after my last birth got down to 100 lbs flat and now I'm already looking like a skinny girl in a fat suit. I'm 140 lbs now, and reached 165 last pregnancy! Not many women seem to understand when I talk about the pain the swelling causes in my joints. Am I alone?

  • 6 month baby has raised red welt around calf should I be worried?

Two days after my baby had her 6 month immunizations a mysterious raised red welt appeared around her calf. It has now been two days since it appeared and it has not worsened or shown any signs of improvement. She has no other symptoms to go along with it other than the physical appearance, it's hard to tell with a 6 month old baby but it does not seem to bother her. I'm concerned though because it is almost a half an inch thick where it starts and does not quite connect around the calf but looks like some type of ring, I haven't switched softeners or detergents so I know it's not related to that. But it just seems so inflamed. Has anyone had any similar experiences with their infants? Should I be alarmed or will this just pass? I'm just concerned as to what may have caused this. Any help would be great.
