  • Timer / Buzzer kit needed but cannot find anything?

I need a simple timer that displays two digital clocks. Each clock is synchronized with a global start button or switch. Once the contest begins, the first person to hit their red button wins and their clock stops where it was when they hit the button and the other clock keeps counting until the second person hits their red button. Anyone know where i can find a kit or something like this?

  • 98 ford ranger how to increase MPG?

I just bought a 2.5L 4cyl. 1998 Ford Ranger 2WD. I bought it because I was looking for a small truck that would get good gas mileage. I'm averaging about 22MPG and would like to know what things I can do to improve that number??? Recently my Engine Light came on, it was a problem with the EGR system. I tested the Relay & Valve and they are both working fine so it must be the sensor that has gone bad. Can a bad EGR sensor make the mileage go down?

  • when should my EVR kick on (98 2.5L ranger)?

I'm getting the Check Engine light P0140..or something like that. Anyways I looked up the code and it has to do with the EGR system not working properly. Just wondering when the EGR Vacuum Relay (EVR) is supposed to kick on so I can test if it's relaying the vacuum properly to the EGR Valve. Thanks for anyhelp.

  • Car tire noise in back?

I have a 2002 Maxima and recently I've been hearing some strange noise from the back tires. I can't pin down if it's the left or right one but the sound seems to be directly proportional to speed. The faster I go the louder it gets. It almost sounds like tread rubbing on the road or maybe a vacuum. I'm not sure how to best describe the noise...anyways I took it to get my tires rotated but the noise is still there. Any ideas?

  • Could an intelligent person please explain the + symbol at the beginning of phone numbers?

I read the wikipedia article and read answers to other similar questions but most of them either didn't make sense or were merely guesses. So why does my cell phone show a + in front of numbers? I know it has something to do with country codes but what if I was from Europe instead of the US? Would it still show a +?

  • My 1993 Volkswagon Fox is running a little on the warm side, could it be the thermostat?

The car is running on the warm side but not quite overheating. It gets a slightly hotter when idling than when driving but I would imagine that's common since there's no air flow when sitting still.

My fan seems to be working fine so am I right to assume that I may have a bad thermostat? If so what temperature thermostat should I get?

  • 1993 VW Fox timing issue...I think.?

A friend and I recently dug into my 1993 VW Fox and replaced the Head Gasket along with some other odds and ends. After putting it all back together and tuning the timing to perfection it was running almost flawlessly (very responsive with smooth idle). But after driving it to work and back it seems to sputter and almost lose power when:

    1: first being started.

2: right after quick acceleration from idle.

3: returning to idle after letting off the throttle.

4: letting off the throttle to shift gears.

So my question: Is this a valve timing issue or a rotor (spark) timing issue? I'm leaning more towards spark personally.

    Thanks for any help

  • 1993 VW Fox GL. Milky White AntiFreeze?

I have a 93 VW Fox GL. The antifreeze is milky white which I'm assuming is the oil/antifreeze mixing. My question is, How do I troubleshoot where the leak is occuring? My antifreeze is all white with a faint hint of the neon green that once existed. The oil was just changed in the car so I can't really tell what the oil looks like, however there is some white paste under the Oil Cap. The exhaust looks a little white but I can't really tell for sure because I'm in Utah and it's FREEZING COLD up here right now. Anyways that's all I can tell you.

    Thanks to any helpers!
