  • xonar dx or ds for audio to hometheater?

Noticed the dx cost twice as much as the ds. Have good on-board audio but want to improve music listening only through the computer to an hometheater setup. A little confused how an analog plug turns into an optical plug output. Looked on ebay and couldn't find such adapter by iteself. I thought the xonar dx and ds only have analog out. Don't see how it has an digital out as xonar claims on these cards.

  • asus xonar stx soundcard vs. onboard soundcard?

have an asus m5a 78l-m lx series motherboard. I listen to wma, downloard mp3 files and stream music like pandora and 365 live. I own over 650 cds. wouldn't rule out different media formats if I can get the right genre's like electronica and rock. I have an fairly expensive onkyo receiver with jbl studio speakers. was also wondering if there is a benefit using rca plugs over 3.5mm plugs. any replys are welcomed. thank you

  • onkyo tx-sr876 dobly tru hd in 7.1?

I noticed some of my blu ray disc that are dobly tru hd are in 5.1. I want to change it like I can with the dts hd master audio in 7.1. Will the receiver change the signal from 5.1 to 7.1 or do I have to use other dobly modes. I have an 7.1 speaker setup right now.

  • Do I buy the Onkyo 806 or Onkyo 876?

I am looking to buy last years model of the 806 or 876. Might even consider the Onkyo 875 if I can find one. Have big JBL Studio speakers and want to go to 7.1. Heard that the power ratings might not be as accurate as listed. Would consider the 806 if the power rating is close. Is their anything else I should look for. Have blu-ray, Dish Hd, Dvd Up-convert, PS3 and JBL Studio Series speakers.
