I called my boyfriend last night after spending the whole day without a phone call or text. This is how the conversation went:

HIM: Hello!

ME: Hey...

HIM: Hello? Hello?? Hello...???

ME: (Simultaneously) Hello? Hello?! Hello!

He Then hung up and I proceeded to call him back.

ME: Hello?

HIM: Hey.

ME: Why did you hang up on me?!

HIM: Sorry I couldn't hear you.

Which is believable because his phone does this often.

HIM: (Seemingly in a rush) Yeah hey look, I got a new phone and I lost all my contacts so can you text me so I have your number?

ME: Well I just called you so you have it. What's going on?!

HIM: My phone old phones charger bit broke off in the phone so I'm having to use my dads old phone. (Still rushing) Look, I can't really talk right now so can you just call me a couple hours?

ME: Ok. Bye.

I texted him asking if it was ok to call. No answer so I went to sleep.

The next day I called him in the morning he didn't answer, but I did get his voicemail. It was his old voicemail which was weird because he said all his contacts were deleted but his old voicemail was saved? I know its the same voicemail because it is a very distinct and unique voicemail. I'm wondering if it's likely that this could happen. Could all his contacts be deleted but not his old voicemail? If not why would he lie? Any thoughts?
