How to maintain constant pressure in pipeline with the help of VFD?
VFD panel (LSIS make) is being used to run pumps and control pump’s rpm in petroleum depot. It is taking input as 4-20 ma from PID controller (autonics make). The PID controller takes pressure from pressure transmitter installed at pipeline. It is desired to maintain constant pressure of 4 kgf/cm2 in pipeline for proper operation. But in this scenario, VFD is overshooting the pressure up to 5 kg and then coming down to as low as 3 kg. As a result, pressure is varying by greater amount and it is not constant at 4 kg. I want that VFD should maintain constant pressure at 4 kg with very less deviation in pressure say +/- 0.1 kg. The pump whose rpm has to be controlled has head as 55 m and max. flow rate as 4800 lpm.
Please help what settings have to be put in VFD in order to get constant pressure in pipeline. Please help.
