  • Need to know side effects are in common in others and how to deal with them?

I have been on Lexapro since Novermber of 2009, and was taking it for postpartum depression and anxiety. I have been doing really well recently and decided maybe it was time to wean myself off the medication. I have never been on an everyday mediation before and don't like having to rely on it. I am also trying to get pregnant again and want to give my baby the best possible environment. I was on 20 and for the last 2 weeks I have cut the pills in half and have been taking 10mg. The first week was okay, but this week has been different. I have been getting nausea, headaches, sweating, dizziness and mood swings. Has anyone else experienced thse side effects and how long do they last? Any advice on what I can do to curb them. I don't need advice on how to wean myself off of Lexapro, I would just like to hear some stores from people who have done it succesfully.

  • Just need some stories and advice on baby # 2?

We have 1 son who is 16 months old and he is a evry independent little guy. He is very well behaved and plays really well with others, and right now I am trying to decide when is the right time to add another addition to our family? I know it's really a personal choice, but I would love to hear some stories or advice from others who have had littles one close together. We had originally decided we were going to think about trying when our son turns 2, but I have some concerns with that. I will be 27 in a few months and my husband is 30 already. I had always wanted to be done having kids by the time I am 30, well just because of my own personal reasons. My biggest concern though is that it took a very long time to conceive our son. I sort of lost track of how long we were trying after awhile, but I know it was at least 18 months or so. What if that happens again? My mother had the problem with conceiving her 2nd child, my brother. She wanted us to be closer in age but was unable to conceive and we ended up being 5 years apart. So really I would just like to hear from some toher mommies with mutliple children, maybe some advice or stories about your little ones and their age differences.

  • Changes in behavior at 13 months?

Lately, my 13 month old sons behavior has been different from before. He used to be an easy going little guy, but now it seems he wants and whines for everything he sees. He is only saying a few words so far, so I know he can't tell me what he wants, but the problem is... I don't think he knows what he wants most of the time. He will make this "ehh, ehhh, ehh sound for something that he sees, but when you give it him, he just throws it on the ground. I know its because he is curious, and I'm not trying to discourage his curiosity, I just don;'t enjoy him whining for things because I don't know what he wants. It makes me embarassed to say that I don't know what he wants, but its the truth. I am a first time mommy and this is the first time he has really gone through anything like this. So I'm sort of at a loss of what to do. I don't want the whining to become a habit and I also don't want to get frustrated with him, any advice mommies?

  • Weird coloring in my hair?

I am 26 years old and lately I have been noticing what look like gray hairs poppin up on my head. At first it didn't seem weird because some women start to gray around this age I suppose. But when I really looked at the gray hair, it was very strange. The root of the hair is very light gray, almost silver and very course, but the end of the hair is my normal color and texture. So far it has just been 1 hair at a time and it happens very sporatically. It seems like the grayish silver root is popping up overnight, because I don't see it the day before. Any ideas on what could be causing this, or could it just be I am starting to go gray? Thanks ladies.

  • Stuck with a home I no longer want to live in?

So here is my situation... I currently live in a mobile home in a community that you must pay lot rent on top of paying our mortgage. At first it was okay because my husband and I both worked in the city we live in, unfortunately now we both have different jobs. We also hate living in the mobile home community because it's nothing but retired people who have nothing better to do than report things that are "wrong" with our home. We are constantly getting letters that we need to fix something, our grass is getting too high, we had to wash the outside of our home, we needed new house #'s and just ridiculous things like that that no one else in our neighborhodd has had to do. I'm not sure why but we have a target on us for everything. They are also raising the lot rent in 2011! We will be paying $345 a month in lot rent on a house that we only owe $27,000! We have tried to sell but once people hear how much the lot rent is, they run the other way. I fear the longer it sits, the worse it will get.

So I'm at a loss and I need some advice or suggestions on what exactly I can do in this situation? How bad will it be for me, if I just stop paying the lot rent. I know they coukd evict us, but what exactly does that mean other than we have to move out? What happens with the balance of our loan if they evict us from the home? Any other suggestions would be very helpful, as I am at my wits end. I am sick and tired of living in a home that I hate, and am ready to move now!

  • Could my body be telling me it's time to stop?

I was prescribed Lexapro about 9 months ago for post partum depression and just wanted to get some feedback. While the medicine has worked great for my anxiety, I'm wondering if it could also be the cause of my constant state of being tired. I recently read that a side effect could be fatigue. My fatigue just recently has gotten worse, so I'm wondering if this could be my bodies way of trying to tell me I no longer need the Lexapro? I am currently on 20 mg a day and was wondering if anyone had any advice for me. I am obviously going to talk to my doctor before I make any decisions, I just wanted to get some real life experience with this medication. Could it maybe be time to start weening myself off of it?

  • Anyone else bothered by Plan B Ads on tv and radio?

I consider myself to be a pretty open minded and liberal person, but I do not find it appropriate for Plan B ( "the morning after pill") to have advertisements on tv or radio. I find the commercials inappropriate because they stress the fact that you can get it without a prescription. I also find them insulting to women because there are no men in the commercials at all. They make it seem like it was only the womans fault that no protection was used. I haven't seen a condom commercial in years, but the Plan B commercials are everywhere? I 'd like to hear everyone elses opinion on this matter, whether you agree with me or not. Please be honesy as you wish, I can take the criticism. Let's get some debate going here!

  • The paid version of Limewire?

Hi there, I just had a quick question. Back in the day I used to use limewire to download music, but now that all these people are getting caught, I stopped. So now you can buy Limewire Pro for like $40 a year? Has anyone ever purchesed this and was it worth it? Is it unlimtied downloads or do you pay per song on top of the fee? Once I download the songs, can I put them on my Ipod? I am a technology reject and and any advice would help. Thanks.

  • Water in the bottle at night?

My son is 8 months old and no longer needs a bottle full of formula during the night, however he still wakes up anyway. I let him fuss for a few minutes and then I always give in and go in and get him. He just can't seem to settle himself back to sleep, so any suggestions on what I can do. I know it's bad habit, but I normally just lay him in the bed with me until he falls back asleep. He is rolling all over the place now so I don't want to do that anymore. I feel like he is still young enough that he won't remember sleeping in the bed with me, as long as I stop now. But I'm not sure how to get him to go back to sleep. I have heard that you can give them a bottle with water and that maybe that will teach them its not worth waking up for? Or would this only make the problem worse? Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks ladies.

  • Showing and selling my home?

I am selling my home and just got a call that someone would like to look at it this weekend. I was wondering if anyone has any advice for me on what to do to make the buyer want to buy it after seeing it? I know it has to be clean and orgnaized obviously, but what else do I need to know? Also, what happens if he sees it and says, ok I would like to buy it? What is my next step? I have never sold a house and before and am unsure of how it all works. So if there any real estate agents out there that could advice me about this procedure, I would greatly appreciate it? Thanks gys. Have a great day!

  • To lighten the mood a little...?

Hello mommie... happy Wednesday. I thought I would change it up a little and ask for some stories instead of answers. So I want all you mommies to share something either funny or strange that you remember about your labor experience. It can be anything, and come on ladies I know you have some good ones.

My funny memory about labor is all the things I remember saying. First a littler background info about my labor experience. My son was 1 week overdue when they decided to induce me. They brought me in at 12 a.m Friday morning to be induced. Knowing the induction was the next day Wednesday night sleep didnt happen much for me and I tried to nap Thursday during the day but couldn't. So at 8 p.m. Friday night when they finally decided to do a c-section I hadn't had more than about 4 hours of sleep for 3 days by that point. My first memorable phrase was when they gave me some medicine for the pain. I remember looking over at my husband and saying "my boy feels like a marshmallow."

The second memorable phrase was when they gave me the spinal block to do the c-section. I was totally numb but I thought my body was still movin. I asked the nurse should I be concerned that my feet are still moving?" She looked down and politely said "your feet are not moving." Even I laughed at that one. My third and final phrase was when they were ready to do the c-section. I must have heard my doc's voice and shocked, I asked my husband.. "is that my doctor?." He just laughed and said yes. These are funny moments I will nevr forget about my labor. Now tell me yours

  • How do I keep him from sweating in the car?

My son is 7 months and whenever I put him in his car seat, he gets really hot. The back of hsi head gets really sweaty. I don't think it is bothering him becaus he doesn't cry, but I do think it would be uncomfortable for him. I can have the windows rolled down or the air conditioning on and it still happens. I don't know if it because of the nylone material or what, but any ideas on what I can do to make him not get sweaty. Thanks mommies.

  • 6 month old not wanting to go to sleep?

Ok mommies, I need some advice. My son just turned 6 months old this week and for a few nights in a row he hasn't been wanting to go to sleep. It all started the night we had to change the clocks forward, so I don't know if that anything to do with ir or what. But here's the situation. I normally fee him around 9 p.m. right before he goes to sleep. I sit in my bed in the dark and feed him his bottle and by the time he's finished he is sound asleep. I like to hold him while he is sleeping and stroke his little head or hold his hand. I feel like this is our own special time to bond without anyone else being around. It used to be that when I would go tp put him into his crib he would wake up but once he got settled in, he would fall back asleep. Well for the past few nights in a row he has been waking up and not going back to sleep. The first nighe he just was awake talking. But last night he actually cried and got really upset. When I went into his room last night he was shaking like he was scared. The weird thing is that when I pick him up and lay him down in the bed right next to me, he falls right to sleep. So any advice on what to do about this? Is this just phase he is going through and we just have to wait it out? Does it sound like seperation anxiety? He also just started sleeping all the way through the night without waking up for a bottle, so could this be having an effect on his sleeping pattern? I don't think it has anything to do with his napping because he normally only takes one long nap (1-2 hrs) and sometimes one really short nap, (45 mins or less). I just need some advice because it breaks my heart when I hear him cry at night, and I know he is tired.

  • Keep giving him the same, or change the food?

My son is almost 6 months old and the doctor has given us the go ahead to start him on solids. Well he has been eating cereal really well for about 3 weeks and I just gave him some suqash last night. He seemed to like it at the time, but he didn't sleep well at all last night and I believe it may have been because of gas. My question is, is that normal the first time he has solids? Do I kep trying the squash because his tummy will eventually get used to it, or do I try something different? He seemed to like the taste of the squash because he ate a few bites, I just don't want his stomach to be upset.

  • When to feed cereal during the day?

Hello, my little guy is turning 5 months this week and the doctor said he is ready for cereal. I am going to start him on once a day for awhile and see how he likes it. My question is what time of day should I give it to him? He normally has a bottle at about 9:30 in the morning and then again at 1 or 1:30 in the afternoon. So my question is what time in between there should I offer him the cereal? I am first time mommy and this is all new to me. I have always gotten such good help on here, so don't let me down mommies.

  • Ready for more formula already?

My son is just a little over 11 weeks old and all of a sudden he has become more fussy than normal. He has been eating about 6 ounces every 4 hours during the day, but could be be ready for more already? Could this maybe be why he is suddenly so much more crabby? I tried to give him pacifier and a teething ring and he still cries, could this mean he is still hungry?

  • should I wake him in the morning?

My son is 5 weeks old and he is still sleeping. He normally wakes up about 3:30 in the morning to feed. My question is whether or not I should be waking him up in the morning around the same time so he will be tired at night?

  • Getting my son used to sleeping in his crib?

My doctor said when my son sleeps to always put him in his crib, so he gets used to sleeping there. He was asleep so I put him in the crib, but he is now awake after sleeping for only about 30 minutes. He is not crying, just making noises, am I doing the right thing by leaving him in there for awhile and just letting him be?

  • Worried about not changing enough diapers?

My son is just over a week old and I am worried that he is not peeing enough? He is fed every 3 to 4 hours from a bottle and we are giving him about 2 ounces. I thought we would be changing his diaper a lot more frequently, but he almost never needs it. How many times a day should he be peeing and I am just worrying for nothing? On average he only needs changed maybe 3 or 4 times a day.

  • First time mommy, need some words of encouragement?

I am currently 4 days overdue with my first little one (it's a boy) and I am going in at midnight tonight to be induced. The doctor said they are going to use cervidil because I am only still just 1 cm dilated. I've heard various stories of how good or bad other womens induction experiences were, and all together I am just kind of nervous. I think what I really need to hear is some words of wisdom and encouragement to help ease my fears. So ladies please, help a mommy who has never been to the hospital for anything, get through this.
