  • Lightning bug...?

It looks like a lightening bug but the lights are in front of the body not the back, and it's bigger than the usual firefly.

    What is it?

  • coconut shrimp?

I'm making coconut shrimp. The recipe calls for using some beer in the flour, I was wondering if I could substitute pineapple juice for that since someone in my house can't have beer? Thanks.

  • Air travel with dogs?

I have a JRT but she's small for her breed (13 lbs). I was wondering what are the travel restrictions for air travel with pets in the cabin? I would love to travel with her but not if she has to go in the cargo area. Does any one know the weight/height requirements for taking your pet in the cabin? And what is the average cost? Thanks.

  • Transfer factor in animals?

I came across this after a friend of mine recently put his puppy to sleep due to distemper. It's called Transfer Factor plus tr-factor. It seems like it is the "holistic" treatment for tis virus and others that has worked better than antibiotics in many instances. It's the human formula. I don't want to ask mainstream vets because I know they will shoot it down. So does anyone on here have any experience with this?

I know driving it takes about 7 hours but I'm considering spending next summer in rochester and have family in brooklyn and south plainfield. So is there any transporation that runs through rochester (or close by) through to brooklyn and jersey (or close by)? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • Hacking noise in my dog?

It's not collapsed trachea or reverse sneezing because I know what those look/sound like. She does this about 5-10x a day where she is just going along her business and out of the blue she acts as if she's going to hack something up...opens her mouth and goes "cack" just once and keeps going. I started to think it could be hairballs because she's been shedding a lot but she's about 8-9 ys old, this thing seems to be getting worse and I'm really confused. I'm talking to the vet tomorrow...but any insights? Should I be worried? Has this happened to anyone before?

  • A pool for dog?

I have a jack russell she loves swimming and instead of taking her to a lake or beach each time would love to get her a large enough pool for the backyard but something I don't need to permanently put into the floor and of course she needs to be able to get in and out easily. And ideas?

  • Agility Training?

I have a JRT (6 months approx). She's had puppy classes already and is in the middle of intermediate. I want to teach her some basic agility stuff while she is still young. I recently bought a play tunnel. I'm not really interested in competitions but think it would be something fun to do - since they are such high energy dogs.

Any ideas on how to start her on this basic training of agility?

Should I just talk to a doctor? Or sky dive team?

  • Charge on capacitor?

Two capacitors are connected in series with a 5.7-V battery. One capacitor has a capacitance of 100 uF and you measure the voltage across it to be 2.05 V. What is the charge on this capacitor?

Given your knowledge about capacitors in series, you can now find the charge on the other capacitor and therefore the capacitance of the second capacitor. What is it?
