  • How do I download a Youtube video I bought?

I bought Pixar's animated short "Boundin'" off of Youtube, its the only one in English I could find. I have several Youtube downloading apps and programs and none of them can get it. It just downloads a 1k empty file. I tried searching online, but all I found were sites describing how to download only the Free-View videos. How do I get around this?

My computer runs Windows7, I have high speed internet. Not sure what else you'll need to know?

  • I want to delete leftover files in my Downloads folder?

I download zipped archives to my Downloads folder. About 2 years ago, when my computer was new, I was downloading zips for a game and 3 of them were corrupted. As a file is downloaded the computer creates a temporary file as a placeholder, I suppose. Anyways, the 3 zips were deleted fine, but the 3 temporary files are still there. I've tried deleting them in various ways. Windows doesn't acknowledge them, yet there they are. Am I stuck with these files forever? How can I get them out of the Downloads folder?

  • I bought a computer with Win7 installed, I want to install WinVista instead, is it possible to go back?

I know you must think I'm nuts! I recently bought an eMachines (ET1831) computer, it is very nice, good graphics and sound. It came with Windows 7 Home Premium. I wanted to get the Windows 7 Professional upgrade, so I could play my XP based games. But there's a snag, my computer doesn't support Virtualization, which is needed to run XP mode. So I'm screwed.

Unless I uninstall Win7 and install Vista. My friends have Vista on their computer, I was beginning to get used to it and like it, plus I could play my Sims 2 and Myst games just fine. And I could use other XP based software.

Yet Vista has some better features than XP, I know people complain a lot about it, but for what I use a computer for, it works for me. I know that Vista is no longer supported, so I would be on my own if anything went wrong.

Here's the basic system specs: Intel Celeron 450 @ 2.20GHZ, 3GB RAM, 64bit OS, Nvidia Graphics, Integrated Sound, 500GB HardDrive

Here's a link to the full list of specs:

    http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtool...

So to be very very clear, I want to know if it is possible to install Vista on this machine?

  • I'm looking for an old Mickey Mouse cartoon?

It's one of the early color toons, when the characters have big black dots for eyes, and all the trees and flowers dance in every shot. The basic plot goes like this: Mickey, Goofy and Donald live together in this little house. One day they decide to pack up and go to the country for a vacation. Here's the best part, they pack up the hole house and it turns into a trailer home. They even pack up the whole sky, as it was covering up a dirty industrial city.

There is cartoon called "Moving Day" where Sheriff Pete evicts them for the inability to pay rent. But that's not the one.

Can someone tell me the name of it, or post a link please?

  • I need a Cable Modem with a built-in Router, for around $50. Any suggestions?

I have a desktop computer and a laptop, and I recently signed up for High-Speed Cable Internet through Charter. I am leasing a Modem and Router from them, for $10 a month. If I buy a Modem with a built-in Router, I will no longer have to pay that charge.

I have called all the big box stores (yes, even Walmart and Best Buy), even the local computer stores, and everyone says that a Modem/Router Combo is between $80-100. I cannot afford that right now. Buying them individually will cost about $50 for each. So it comes out costing the same.

I want a Cable Modem/Router for $50 or less. I am asking the Yahoo community if they have see any good deals online or know of any good places to look.

I live in Madison, Wisconsin, USA.

  • I can't get cable channels with my DTV converter box?

I have a TV, DVD/VCR and now a DTV Converter Box and bunny ears. I have basic cable, I want to keep it, because I get some channels that DTV doesn't offer yet.

Here is exactly how it is all setup: The coax goes from the wall to the Antennae (bunny ears), to the DTV Converter box, to the DVD/VCR, and finally to the TV.

I set the Converter box to channel 4, scanned on the channels, all the local channels and digitals ones are there, except for our local Fox station.

But all the cable channels are gone, even though, in theory, the cable line from the wall, is unbroken. The Converter box is filtering them out, but why?

The instruction manuals for the antennae and converter box were unhelpful. I tried www.dtvanswers.com and found nothing helpful there. I went to the FCC's www.dtv.gov site, but their help services are canceled and the help line has been disconnected.

I have a Toshiba TV, a Sony DVD/VCR, a RCA antennae, and a Apex converter box. The TV is newer, but is not digital ready.

I just set this all up today, 6-27, I can record programs from digital channels, that works great. But I want to watch my cable!

Oh yes, I called my Cable company, they refused to help, said it was a converter box issue. I called the Apex people, they told me to basically ditch my cable, because DTV was just so much cooler.

I want to enjoy my cable and dtv, and you will figure it out, because you're smarter than I am.

  • How old is the human race?

Please restrict answers to science and I mean science not taught in churches. You may have faith that "we're" only about 6,000 years old, that is your right, but I do not share that belief. I want facts, as are given by the overall scientific community.

    Here is my precise question:

I want to know (guestimates are okay) how old the human race is. From the moment we stopped being just apes to something a bit more intelligent. No philosophy, no religion; just the facts.

I understand there are missing links in our evolution, so until all the gaps are filled, we won't know the precise age. I just want a guess, but a cold, logical one.

    Thanks!

I saw this line as a tattoo. It's Latin, but I'm not precisely sure which dialect it comes from. Web translators have not been helpful.

  • why do women put the tp roll on one way and men the other?

This is not just one incident, I have observed this pattern for many years. Women, when replacing toilet paper (tp) rolls, place the roll so that when you roll out a sheet, it rubs against the wall. Also it's damn near impossible to find the edge.Women are generally obsessive about germs and cleanliness, so why do they want the tp to rub against the wall??? That doesn't make sense!

When you put the roll on the other way, so the sheets dangle on the outside and so natural gravity pulls the end down, so you don't have to find it by rubbing your poo hands all over the roll; this way is just more logical!

Women, explain yourselves! It is much cleaner, faster and just @#%& more logical if you do it our way...what is your reasoning, for allowing the tp to rub against the wall, how is that clean? When you have to keep rolling it around to find the end, so you're rubbing your poo hands all over the roll, how is that clean?

The obvious solution is to just turn the roll around, which I do every single time. But every time a woman changes the roll, it's back the other way! Women, tell me, why does this way seem logical to you? Why?

And because not EVERY woman in the whole world does it the same way, I'm excluding those women who do it the logical way, I commend you for rising above your programming.

  • Why don't birds just eat worms off the sidewalk after it rains?

It seems humanity has had roads and walkways long enough for worms to figure out they could crawl on them during a rainstorm...but why do I never see a bird scooping them up? It's like a worm buffet, natural selection is not that slow! If monkeys can figure out that sticking a blade of grass into an ant hole will bring out a ton of ants...this seems like a far simpler evolutionary step? The worms just sit there until the sun comes out and French fries them. Such a waste of food...

    Any ideas?

  • How would our world be affected if every year we had to survive violent earthquakes and flooding?

This is a fictional "what if?" scenario, I need some imaginative answers for a story I'm writing.

If every year, there was an annual and predictable pole shift, which also affected the orbit of our moon; what would our world look like? Would our architecture be different? These would be quick shifts, lasting only a few weeks from beginning to end. There would be dramatic climate changes, the earth would shake and all kinds of nasty stuff would happen.

But let us assume that humanity has evolved and survived and has adapted to this annual event. What does a city look like? What kind of materials are used? What kind of industry has developed? How do people travel around the world? What would our culture look like?

This is for a fantasy story, so please toss out realistic and/or crazy ideas as well, I want to hear them all.

I know you get points for answering a questions, no matter what you say; but please do not answer this question unless it actually interests you. Thanks!

  • I need a program that converts DVD to WMV or MPEG?

I have been filming things with my VHS camera, then burning them to DVD with my DVD/VCR... but I want to convert some of the DVD movies to a WMV or MPEG so I can email them or edit them in a movie maker program.

I have 2 PCs, one runs Windows ME the other XP, I have a DVD-ROM/Burner on both computers. Is there a freeware or inexpensive program I can use to do this?

I do not need this to steal DVD movies, I have other sources for that.... I'm seriously trying to convert my home-made movies into other formats. Please, give me as many possible options as you like, in case one doesn't work.

    Thanks!

  • How is it fair that other users can choose a stupid answer as Best Answer?

I'm the Asker (which btw Yahoo, is not a word!), I should get to choose which is the Best Answer to MY question.

Recently I asked a valid question about whether or not this silly war is based on a feud between two biblical brothers or is it really just oil.

All the question got was 3 snarky answers and one of them was from a Top Contributer (which doesn't say much). And because that one was voted the snarkiest of them all, by other users.

I'm not really angry about this, I realize this is just an annoying rule I must've agreed to when signing up (who really reads the TOS?). I'm whining, plain and simple. I also realize I'm about to unleash the snarky floodgates from Top Contributers.

    Bring it on!

  • If my penis was 9 miles long, how tall would I be?

I'm terrible with math, really. I need this for a fantasy story. Imagine a giant man, of an average height (when compared to a normal sized man) and average weight. With a penis that is nine miles long, fully erect. How tall is he? How much does he weigh if the world's gravity is the same as Earth?

I know some of you must be laughing, that's okay. This problem has been driving me crazy though, because until I figure out how big the giants are, I cannot figure out how big the island they live on is, or the planet.

His penis size is slightly above average, like the average penis size is 5-6in, in this world the equivalent would be similar, only in miles.

Only serious replies will be considered for best answer.

  • Is there a device that can convert audio/video data from red/yellow/white cords to VGA cable?

I have a laptop that runs Vista and it has all sorts of video editing software, it has a VGA port and several USB ports. Is there a device that I can plug into the laptop that can read data from the old red/yellow/white audio/video cords? I want to connect a VHS camcorder to the laptop. Is this possible?

  • How to draw Manga style characters?

I would like to find websites and/or videos that have step-by-step instructions on drawing manga style characters, specifically facial features and hair.

I've found some books at the library, but I am a visual learner, it is better if I can see the process, rather than just reading about it.

I am also a member of DeviantArt, I know they have tutorials on there and some have been very helpful, but I would like to know what else is out there.

    Thanks!
