I get a LOT of messages. How can I limit the number displayed so I can more easily select the ones I want to delete? Thanks.
1 AnswerPreferences and Settings8 years agoSmart phones in Germany?
I will be in Germany for almost 3 months. Are there any prepaid smartphones I can pick up that will access the internet? I only need the phone for 3 months, so I'm only interested in one that had a month to month contract. Thanks.
1 AnswerOther - Germany8 years agoHow much is a taxi from Trenton airport to the closest NJ Transit train to New York City?
I think the question says it all -- fare from Trenton airport to the closest stop on the NJ Transit train running from Trenton to NY Penn Station.
2 AnswersOther - United States8 years agowhat is near newark airport for a cheap day (not nyc)?
I have to spend one night at Newark Airport. I need to know where to go to eat and maybe visit an interesting place outside New York (I live there). I figure using the PATH and going to Jersey City is best bet but anyone have any nearby suggestions near NJ Transit train stops not too far into New Jersey? Thanks.
3 AnswersOther - United States9 years agoHuntington Metro Station Area in Virginia outside DC?
I am planning a week long trip to DC. I got a good deal on the Red Roof Inn which is supposed to be a mile walk from the Huntington Metro station. Can anyone tell me what the area is like around this hotel and maybe even what this hotel is like in particular? I know downtown DC fairly well so if I am near the Metro I am pretty much OK -- but I don't want to stay somewhere really inconvenient and/or a high crime area. Thanks.
2 AnswersWashington, D.C.10 years agoNew York Area Hotels?
I live in Manhattan, but do not know the other boroughs and New Jersey that well. Where can I get a halfway reasonably priced hotel for a friend that is visiting in September? It has to be a private hotel, not a hostel. And I think I would prefer a chain hotel. Ideally I'd like a fairly nice place that is near the subway line but preferably not an airport motel. If anyone has had a good experience a such a place I'd appreciate any recommendations. Thanks.

If you have excellent credit, do credit card issuers drop your limit as you get older or do they look to see if your job or income has changed as you get older?

To use public wi-fi hot spots, like public libraries, wired parks, etc. -- is this free? Or do you have to have some sort of contract with a pay company for it to work? Thanks
7 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks1 decade agoryan seacrest on american idol?
Do you find it annoying that there are so many off-hand, mostly insulting subtle comments made about Ryan being gay on American Idol? And also they have such hard core rules about male vs. female identified contestants, and judges always comment how the "girls" are going to like the boys, and vice versa? I find it really annoying. Same goes for Dancing with the Stars. That show even has an openly gay judge (Bruno) who plays along with the jokes and sexual sterotypes. Both Ryan and Bruno have such large platforms to just openly, casually talk about their sexuality on these top rated shows -- sexual preference comes up all the time -- but I think shamefully choose not to. What do you think?
4 AnswersReality Television1 decade agoDo I qualify for the new $7500 tax credit?
If someone has never bought a house but just saved money, can I get the $7500 credit if I buy a house with cash, even though I have only social security income and owe no taxes? Would I get a check for $7500?
2 AnswersRenting & Real Estate1 decade agoHow does the TV show Survivor end?
This is the first season I have watched. There are 5 contestants left, and 5 are on the jury. The show ends this Sunday (I think). How many people end up on the jury, and how many are left to be voted on?
6 AnswersReality Television1 decade agoBAD REQUEST page appearing?
Lately I've been getting a blank page (except in all bold letters that says BAD REQUEST in the upper left corner) when I click on a link. It only happens sometimes, but is fairly often -- anyone know what causes this and/or how to fix it? Thanks.
1 AnswerDesktops1 decade agoTax Deduction when visiting rental home?
If I buy a property in another state, and have to visit to maintain the place, does that qualify as a tax deduction (the airfare, expense of staying there, etc?) I want to buy a retirement home, but rent it out for a few years before actually moving into it. Thanks
4 AnswersRenting & Real Estate1 decade agoDriving to Nuevo Laredo and/or Acura?
I will have a US car rental -- can I walk across the border into these 2 towns? If I drive the car into Mexico, what is the deal with buying the Mexican Car Insurance? Can you buy it at the last minute?
3 AnswersOther - Mexico1 decade ago2 questions re crdit cards?
I have 2 questions about credit cards. I am a credit card addict -- I can't stop applying for them, even tough I don't need them, and pay them off in full and have an almost perfect credit score.
Question 1: Do credit cards ever start lowering your credit limit when you get older, by their assumption that your income drops or that you may drop?
Question 2: What is the best way, and in what order, to get rid of unneeded cards, as far as my credit record is concerned. I think I've read that canceling cards looks bad on your accounts.
I'd especially welcome answers from people who are familiar with the credit card business.
Thanks.
2 AnswersCredit1 decade agoQuestion for young gay men from poor-ish backgrounds?
I am curious what it is like to be young (say 18-26), poor, and gay in a smaller town in 2007. When I was a kid in the 1960s and 1970s, I moved to large cities, people wore cheap clothes (hippies), everyone was very trusting and let you stay at their houses for free when you traveled -- without expecting anything for it -- it was very fun, and very easy and cheap. Now, all the gay large cities are unaffordable, the gay clubs, in large cities anyway, are marketed to people who look and dress right, which takes money. lots. Plus you grew up with images of gay people who were just fine and dandy, like Will & Grace, Ellen, etc. What is it like for some of you today? As an older person I see "gay acceptance" more as a marketing tool and geared to one type of person -- a person with money, all their family and friends pleased as punch they are gay. What is it like really for some of you? I go to smaller towns and know it is not that great to be gay there, as far as I can tell. Thanks.
