Small office network of 10 computers. Upgrading from (XP Pro) peer to peer to a SBS 2003 setup. DSL, run thru a 2 wire gateway.

Exchange server, static IP's is being highly recommended by the software supplier.

We currently get our email through yahoo (set up in hosted web site by yahoo). Only one person accesses the email and distributes it to the two or three people that actually get any email. The only drawback with the email system as it is now is the ocasional attachment over 20 mb - we then have it sent via sendthisfile.com.

... that everyone on the network can access. Does the scanner have to be a network scanner or can a USB connection one work also? Main thing is access by more than one workstation.

This is from Excel 2003:

=ISNA(MATCH(C5,$L$5:$L$984,FALSE))

Above compares column C5 with L5 thru 984 entries. I get FALSE with a match and TRUE when no match. How can I suppress the word FALSE?

(I'm only looking for TRUE 's)

These are networked computers. Device to record should be hand held. Is there any sense in creating data file and transferring to be listened to at other workstation or would something as simple as a couple of little recorders?

Cable comes into house to cable modem, then connecting to computer via ethernet cable. To connect a second computer would a hub / switch do the same job as a router? If not, why - they seem to be pretty much the same????

KB 938810 refers to problem (OFFICE SP3).

I tried unblockexcel.reg program - I still can't see excel file extention in open (file type).

I want to merge for labels. And if I use "all file types", the excel data displays as garbage, not useable.

It just started doing it. I think the user (not me) turned something on hitting some weird keys.

The spreadsheet is inserted in a word document for a financial statement. The spreadsheet is shaded a light tan. If I click it to edit, the color goes away and it is alright to edit.

By the way, it prints okay (no shading showing up- only on the screen).

I found a Maxtor Fusion but that needs a router which I don't want to use if possible.

We already have a AT & T cable modem configured to plug into our network via a switch and I don't want to mess with that.

So, I envision the Hard Drive sitting plugged into the network from a switch like a print server would be. ??????
