Good morning,

A portion of my apartment building recently caught on fire. I had no idea the building was smoldering until I was awaken in my sleep by the fire alarm coming from the building that was on fire. Then I proceeded to look out the window and noticed what was going on.

I wanted to know what is the protocol in order to ensure that people are out of the building? I support all firefighters, police force and EMS support, but last night there was no warning. No alarm (besides the fire alarm in the other building) and families that were leaving the building, did not receive any communication from the firefighters and police force that were on the ground.

This is my first ever fire. Under any situation. In most cases. I would think there would be some guy over a microphone notifying folks to leave the building or door knocks, but I may be wrong.

How do firefighters work in your area?

As an investor my stocks were split 2:1 from my company. I recently received my summary of stocks and it still shows only half of my amount of 5,000 of the 10,000 I have vested. Does anyone know how this process works? Will I be given my stocks at a later time to invest? Will I be given a money amount for the stocks that were split? Will the pay out be more when I sell? Just curious.

I am planning on marrying my boyfriend in New York City in August, but I am afraid this may not be possible. I am a US citizen, but I currently live in Chicago. I am not a resident of NYC. My boyfriend who is from Benin is in the US on a working Visa for a French restaurant. He has lived in NYC for three years.

I am concerned that being he is on a working visa and I am not from NYC, that we may not be able to marry.

Are there any New Yorkers out there that have any info about this situation?

Basically, I am used to upgrading HDDs for my computer/laptops. I know that the OS is never installed I will have to install on my own. I was wondering if the PS3 is the same or is the OS automatically loaded.

Yep! Just like the rest of us smartphone users I am getting pure-D upset about not being able to uninstall applications that I don't use or can't use. My navigation apps are no longer working so I would like to uninstall and add another navigation app that works. I have been doing some searching around the net and came across a few answers, but I don't think they are valid enough. I will need to know if there is transport shuttle from JFK airport (New York City) to LGA (Laguardia airport).

I know here in Chicago you can take the train CTA from O'Hare to Midway for as little as $2.50, but is there a way to do this on the New York City public transportation. I know if they can do this in Chicago they can do this in New York City.

I am in the market for a audio mixer.

Nothing fancy or expensive. I want to do some in home recording with my laptop. The software I use and the mic has a lag when I record (beat before voice). So, I was told that I need a mixer.

Does anyone know of a mixer that I can use with a laptop and what equipment would I need to hook the mixer to my laptop? A mixer with a USB option would be great.

I just touched down in London two weeks ago finding items back at home is a little hard.

For instance: aluminum foil, cigars/blunts (garcia y vega, phillies, white owl..) ranch dressing (preferably Hidden Valley).

This is something that I have been researching for the last few days after a strange thought ran across my mind.

Have we as humans really landed on the moon? If so, why has there not been an anniversary or second exploration of the desolate planet?

It is very weird to me that with so much technology such as GPS tracking, sonar, solar energy and a list of other magnificent technologies, that now in 2007 we are not building things on the moon, landing on other planets, and having space launches for folks across the globe to view space and other planets.

It is also strange to me how we can build space suites to withstand the pressure of outer space, but we can not develop a machine or humanoid suit to withstand the pressure of our deep blue seas.

Hopefully you guys can shine a little bit of light on the situation. What do you think?

I am a dNb (drum and bass) fan, and some of the tracks that I am listening to are not my taste. The catch to this is that all of my dNb tracks are blended together, so there is no skipping or back track without holding down the scan buttong (annoying and painful).

I am looking for some software (free or purchase) that will allow me to cut through a song and save it as a mp3 file and burn it a disc.

Any help out there??

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to bring up the Video/Music library which gives you access to a list of online videos and music.

I am not talking about the playlist library, but a library that can be accessed through Winamp to access videos and music around the globe.

I was using at one point and time then it vanished. I had all type of movies (Beetle Juice, Freakzoid just to name a few) and a huge list of radio stations.

Any of your help would be greatly appreciated. I have winamp version 5.24.
