A little over a year ago we sold our home and money was kept in escrow (1/2 from us and 1/2 from the buyer) to purchase a radon system. As of today they buyer still has not installed it nor has contacted anyone to do so. the money is still sitting at their attorneys office, who cannot locate them, phone calls have gone unanswered.

Doesn't the buyer have a certain amount of time to have this done? Shouldn't the monies be refunded to both of us at this point?

(*we live in PA don't know if there are different laws in each state)

It was working fine and all of a sudden nothing. It looks like it is playing the song but there is no sound, either in headphones or docking stations. I tried rebooting and resetting...nothing. I even updated. After I updated I did get about 2 seconds worth of sound out of the headphones but it shut right off.

Any suggestions???

Yesterday there was immigration rallies all over the US...to grant illegal aliens residency and citizenship.

Now lets face it 99% of US Citizens came from somewhere else (Unless of course you are an American Indian)..BUT WE CAME HERE LEGALLY!!

Why should we grant illegal aliens amnesty?? That's like saying I want money, I'll go rob a bank, and you won't send me to jail!

If they want residency and citizenship in this country they should apply thru the proper channels...like my ancestors did.

All illegal aliens SHOULD be deported or face penalties and punishment...they are breaking the law!!

We just moved into a home and it has a septic mound. It has been covered with snow and now that its melting we found a large hole (about 2 ft in diameter) on the top. What I really want to know is if it just needs to be filled with dirt or is this a sign of a more serious problem? Is it safe to walk on? My kids have been using the mound as a sledding hill? Any answers will be greatly appreciated.

We have more here (I'm in NE Pennsylvania) than we had all winter, probably about 15-18 inches last night alone and more expected today. To think it was 70+ degrees on Wed.!! Just when I thought we could put the snow blower away..ugh!

We just moved into a new home but we need to make an additional bedroom for my son. There is an oversized 2 car garage attached to the house and thats where we decided to put my sons new room. It is freezing in there, it is unfinished (studs) with no insulation. We already put in a sub-floor with a vapor barrier and sheet insulation. Our problem is with the walls, they are 2x4.

My question:

Is there any type of insulation we can use that will give us a higher R value than 15 or will we have to add 2x2's to the exsisting studs so we can put at least R19 (we live in NE PA).

We were going to purchase this with cash monies but my husband has now lost his job. We so far have paid for the perk testing($850) and septic permit($350) and have a $500 deposit on this property.
