Windows desktop search 4 is not indexing the external hard drive I have selected. It is indexing my emails and internal hard drive just fine. I've tried rebuilding the index and have that drive checked. Any thoughts?

I have a PDF open and I click the email button, which attaches the pdf to and email for me. I can then type my email just fine, and click send. The email sends but it hangs both Outlook and Acrobat. I have to close them out and restart. Acrobat 8 and Outlook 2007 with XP

I am debating going to US Cellular from a local GSM company in my town, but am very unimpressed with Us Cellular's Smart Phones. I have only used Palm OS before, but the Windows Mobile Moto Q 9c looks like it may be an option. Any suggestions (and reasons why) for either of the to OS's?

We have cellular service through a local company and my wife broke her phone, can I go to Walmart buy the $10 Motorola Trac Phone that has a sim card slot and just plug my sim card into it? Would I have to unlock it first? And if so how do I go about unlocking it?

I want my footnotes to run from left to right (horizontally) instead of stacking them on top of each other(vertically) in Indesign, is that possible? Like this:

I run a small print shop, we are moving to two employees, myself and another. Our projects are typically simple, quick turnaround deals that don't need elaborate mangament deadlines etc. We use a spreadsheet now to log all our projects. I'm wanting something that will help us not let anything fall through the cracks since we manage so many smaller projects, that has a calender view for the deadline and is very straight forward and logical. Any suggestions

In Illustrator, I'm having trouble getting my outer glows to really stand out. I end up having to make copies of my object and stack them on top of each other to get the outer glow to show up as vibrant as I want it. Am I doing something wrong, I've tried switching around blend modes on the outer glow and it doesn't help?

I have a book pallet set up for my book, and I open everything through that pallet and keep it open when I'm working, then when I'm done working sometimes the little hazard signs come up in the pallet next to individual documents that say "Document has been modified outside of book." Normally I do repaginate and it renumbers the pages for me and the hazards go away. This time it said I had some missing fonts and that if it used replacement fonts, the page numbering might be altered" But I doesn't appear that I have any missing fonts. What are the general causes of this document modified message? And specifically the error I received about the repagnation?

Throughout a book I'm working on roman numerals are used, I need the best way to switch all those to actual numbers. Find and Replace? If so what's the best way to do it with Find and replace?

I have a large document, that has text flowed throughout the pages. I want to swap out Page 3's contents with a edited version I have on a separate file. Whats the best way to do this to not disrupt the flow (or get my text out of alignment with graphics, other text, divider bars, etc.)? I basically just want to delete the text frame on page 3 and insert my edited version in its place. But when I try and do that the flow just goes from page 2 to page 4 and then I can't get it to re-route through the page 3 I just added.

I used a brush to create a frilly design in Photoshop CS3 for a website and am now wanting to export those slices as transparent gif images so that they will set above the background and you can see the background through them. But they are exporting horribly, very grainy. They are just a simple one color line design. What I want to happen is just like this site:

How do I go about designing something that will be sent to a print shop for embroidery on a polo shirt. Do i just design in illustrator and send them the .ai file?

If I'm doing some freelance design on the side, do I need to charge my customers tax? And do I report that in the additonal wages section of my tax forms?

I am looking to upgrade my RAM from 512 to 2.5GB. I have 512 now and am looking to purchase a pair of 1GB ram sticks. I have been looking on dealram.com becuase you can enter your computer (I have a dell dimension 4700) and it brings up memory specific to your computer. My question is, why are the prices so drastic. 1Gb ranges from $50 to over a $100 a stick, should i be careful and what should i be lloking for when buying RAM. I have the specs from my dell manual: 400- and 533 MHZ (PC2-3200) DDR2 unbuffered SDRAM non-ECC. Any advice would be great!

With Adobe CS3 coming out March 27th, what are my options for buying? By that I mean, when adobe releases new products should i look for the old one to drop way down or there to be a special release discount? I am wanting to buy a version of the creative suite before i graduate so i can get my educational discount but i just don't know if there are any other tips i can look for with this new release thrown in the mix.
