  • What do people do with urns of ash remains when they are no longer wanted?

If there is no one left who is willing to keep an urn full of the remains of a person what is supposed to be done with it? Do they take it to a mortuary? Send it to the dump?

  • I help my 36 year old son but when I ask for help in return he refuses. Am I being selfish?

My son dumped his girlfriend of 8 years last winter even though I told him I didn't think he should. He drove across the country to come back here and reunite with his old friends from his teenage years. I still live in the same area so he dropped his dog off for me to babysit on his way to stay with friends in the city. He also reconnected with an old girlfriend. When that didn't work out and he still hadn't found a job and his money ran out he landed on my couch for the Christmas. For the most part he just sat there and stared at his ipad. I live on a farm and considering his and his dogs presence created more work for me I would of appreciated some help with the chores. I live in the only area in the country that had record breaking snow this winter and it came early before I and many others could get the hay in. I was forced to buy hay a pick up load at a time and then carry bales of hay from my pick up to the barn through snow too deep to drive through. He helped me one afternoon and complained the entire time. When he finally found a good but temporary job a few hundred miles north of here I paid to have his car winterized and bought him decent tires with the credit card. He tossed his old tires on the back porch just outside the door and even though I asked him to move them several times he never did. I finally ended up tossing them out in the snow as I was tired of crawling over them everyday when I went out to do chores. Gave him some cash, a few boxes of food, gave him an adequate sleeping bag and extra blankets and sent him away to work. He left the dog here and I have watched it for about 3 months now. It occasionally beats up my dogs and has been an inconvenience. His job ended yesterday and now he has money. He came back last night and after feeding him a good breakfast I asked him this morning if he would please help me haul hay out to the animals. He said he had to go see a friend before he goes back across the country because he might not get to visit him again. My response was he might not see me again either as I'm getting older and could croak anytime, possibly from over work. He condescendingly said I was being an Eeyore, as in the self pitying Winnie the Pooh character. So am I wrong to expect my son to help me when I need help like I help him when he needs help? Aren't families supposed to help each other when they can? Shouldn't helping be a two way street? When he was a child he helped, but now he acts as though he has no obligation to me. He is going to stay in town tonight and come back sometime tomorrow when I can't buy hay so can't bring in any extra. I was hoping he could help me get a pickup load ahead out in the barn. It would take him about 45 minutes. He is leaving Monday morning so he won't have time to help me then. I don't consider helping me a requirement of me helping him, but I do think it would be the decent thing for him to do. I'm very disappointed. I would like to hear others thoughts on this. I love my son and am very proud of many of his accomplishments but this self centered attitude is hurtful. How can I bring it up without making him hate me?

  • Once again, Obama promised to bring the troops home from Iraq by this years end.?

Has it happened? Did it already happen? Did they just move them to another place or did they bring them back to the states?

  • Why does my pom shed every fall?

As soon as the days start getting cooler she starts loosing her hair. She spends the entire winter shivering in this scraggly coat. By the time her hair has all grown back it is springtime again so then she spends the summer being too hot. Even though I can put coats on her in the winter we live in Alaska so it's important that she have hair in winter. Why is she backwards and is there anything I can do to help her?
