How come when I call Obama a Communist, my posting is deleted within 10 minutes ...?
Another user calls someone else the "N" word, and their answer is still up 26 minutes later even after being reported?
14 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoFor those opposed to the Patriotic Act ...?
Can you seriously name ONE of YOUR rights that has been taken away? Name ONE thing YOU cannot do today as a result of the Patriot Act.
I am not talking about someone you saw a news story on, or a friend of a friend of a friend. YOU. No one else.
I'm really curious because there is not one thing I could do pre-9/11 that I cannot do today.
6 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhat is so special about Barack Obama??
I mean, he is not even the nation's first black president. That honor belongs to William Jefferson Clinton, right?
12 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhat is your best argument for or agains the privitization of Social Security?
I have two Thrift Savings Accounts - the very plan that President Bush proposed letting private citizens have access to. My retirement savings has grown by over 80% over the course of the last two years, and that is money that will be there when I retire. The government cannont touch it - ever.
If this plan is good enough for the President, members of Congress and every Federal employee, why shouldn't every American have access to it?
6 AnswersPolitics2 decades agoWhy can't you call anyone an idiot or a moron in Yahoo! Answers without getting a violation notice?
Yet users can call the President an idiot and a moron all day long and it is supposedly a "valid question with merit?"
(Please, none of the normal anti-Bush rhetoric ... I am seeking serious answers.)
14 AnswersYahoo Answers2 decades agoIs there a legal requirement to show your receipt when leaving a store?
You know the store employees who ask to see your receipt as you leave a store? What law says you have to show them your receipt? You have passed the last point of sale and paid for the items ... they - as well as the receipt - are now your legal property and not subject to an unwarranted search. What is to stop someone from just saying, "Bug off!" and keep walking?
I ask this because many of the receipt checkers are grumpy and downright rude, and I am getting a little tired of it.
10 AnswersLaw & Ethics2 decades agoHow many people who oppose the Patriot Act have actually ready it?
If you have never read the Patriot Act and oppose it, please be so kind as to tell why with a little synopsis of what you believe the Patriot Act says.
4 AnswersPolitics2 decades agoIs anyone else having trouble by not getting credit for resolving or rating questions?
Is it just me? I have recently received some violation notices for some stuff I didn't know was against the rules (which, Yahoo! team WILL NOT happen again :-), and I don't know if I am not being awarded credit (trying to avoid the "p" word) for voting for a Best Answer or rating a Best Answer as a punishment or if it is a glitch in the system.
I still seem to collect credit for answering a question or choosing a Best Answer for one of my questions, just not voting or rating.
Am I on some sort of double secret probation??
Thanks!
5 AnswersYahoo Answers2 decades agoCan you give me a clearer definition of "points gaming"?
I posted a question earlier with some links to questions I had answered that ended in a tie. Because I had mentioned something about getting points for voting in the unresolved questions, about half of the respondants were talking about "points gaming". What exactly is points gaming? If it is a violation, why is it not mentioned in the Community Guidelines?
I did not mention which answers were mine at all. In fact, I could care less if my answers were chosen. It was merely an attempt to resolve old questions.
I have since removed the question when I saw the firestorm being raised over it, but I am still not sure what was wrong with it. In fact, I see questions like that on almost a daily basis.
Thanks for any help and/or clarification.

1 AnswerSmall Business2 decades agoIs anybody aware that there is a little "check spelling" link above the text box where you answer a question?
It actually checks your abysmal spelling and corrects it BEFORE you post your answer ...
And what's up with questions costing 5 points now??? And only getting 3 back for choosing a Best Answer???
20 AnswersYahoo Answers2 decades agoWho will cast the tiebreaker in these questions?
Post an HONEST answer of how many you voted on. The highest number of questions voted on the quickest get the 10 points.
2 AnswersCivic Participation2 decades agoWhy do so many Democrats and liberals think Bill Clinton was not impeached?
He is one of only two presidents to have been impeached - the other being Andrew Johnson.
15 AnswersPolitics2 decades agoDo you refer to all carbonated drinks as soda, pop or Coke?
As I grew up in Texas, all carbonated drinks were called Cokes.
"I'll take a Coke."
"What kind of Coke would you like?"
"Make it a Mountain Dew."
:-)
