  • Interesting Lenovo Laptop power problem.?

    Lenovo T430 laptop.

    If the power cord is unplugged, the power button does not function.

    If I plug in the power cord, power button immediately turns the laptop on.

    If I plug in the cord, press the power button to turn it on, and immediately unplug the power cord, the laptop runs on battery just fine.

    Replacing the battery doesn't change anything.

    It's as if the functionality of the power button itself is disabled unless a power cord is plugged in.

    Anyone seen this before?

  • To all the IT pros out there...?

    I have a plan that will greatly increase the stability, security, and reliability of our network. I have the knowledge and skills to implement it. However, I am fairly low on the "totem-pole" and because of that, I am seen as not having any skills beyond those of my job. Everyone else is either unable to do it, or considers it a low priority.

    How do I convince my superiors that I can do this?
