  • Can you still do an overdone monologue?

I have always gone to auditions that required cold readings. I'm about to audition for a new theater group that requires you to present two contrasting monologues. I have never prepared a monologue before and choose two that I thought were perfect for me. I have recently found that the comedy I was going to perform is greatly overdone, The Star-Spangled Girl by Neil Simon. I have two weeks until the audition and am not sure I can find another comedy and know it as well as I know this piece. Is it okay to do an overdone monologue if you can do it well?

  • How do you tell the guy who made you realize you were gay?

I always assumed that I was bi because I was still attracted to men. Last night a coworker introduced me to this really great guy and I ended up going to his house to hang out. We started fooling around and I found myself wishing he were a woman. I spent most the night doing the whole soul searching thing and knew that I was not bisexual, but gay. I know he is attracted to me and I don't want to hurt his pride but I don't want to pretend.

  • Fixing Communication with my Dad?

Over the years my dad and I have drifted apart. We were the best of friends when I was in school but now that I've moved out on my own we don't talk on the phone often and if we do it's about trivial things. The only we communicate anything of value is through my Mom. It hurts not being able to have an open relationship with him anymore but I don't know how to fix it...any advice?

  • How can I stop being jealous of my roommate?

My roommate and I have been best friends since collage. We have always enjoyed the single life and never really care that neither one of us have really dated. Now she has a boyfriend and I don't enjoy the single life much anymore. It's not that I want a boyfriend, I don't have the time for a relationship, but I am very jealous of her now.
