I'm looking for PUBLIC DOMAIN historical quotes for stock indexes and commodities?
Does anyone know of a website that displays these AND have terms of service that would allow them to be reproduced on another website? They don't need to be intra-day or even same day.
Please don't answer with any of the usual suspects (Yahoo!, MSN, etc). I've already inspected their terms of service.
Investing2 decades agoWhy doesn't Cablevision's $10 planned dividend generate more buying interest?
I would expect traders to bid the price up close to or above $33 ($10 above the 52-week high). I'm assuming that people could buy it now and then turn around and sell it on or after April 25th while pocketing the $10 per share.
Am I misunderstanding the possibility (or non-possibility) here?

In the 1979 NFL Draft, two players who would go on to win the Super Bowl's Most Valuable Player award with the same team were drafted consecutively.
Name them.
1 AnswerFootball (American)2 decades agoHow do I characterize a transfer of shares into an IRA account?
If I transfer (during the month of February) mutual fund shares that I already own into an IRA account (for the purpose of lowering my 2005 taxes), do I report that as a sale on my 2005 taxes or my 2006 taxes?

I'm thinking of investing in an ADR for a Russian oil company. I'd love to hear from anyone who has had experiences something like this (regarding complications specifically related to this type of security).
1 AnswerInvesting2 decades agoHow about a search to see if a question was asked previously?
Here's an idea...I'm assuming it hasn't already been implemented, but if it has been I wouldn't know. When someone submits a question, Yahoo! should present a list of questions (if any exist) that appear to be the same question.
That way when someone asks 'which teams have never won the Super Bowl' they can see that it's already been asked 14 times and answered 187 times.
No need to thank me, Yahoo!, just keep the checks coming.

I currently have 'linked' savings accounts with ING Direct, Emigrant-Direct, and Virtual Bank. I'm wondering if anyone has HSBC Direct and can tell me how it stacks up against the others.
3 AnswersPersonal Finance2 decades agoShould home country be displayed for questions?
Does anyone think it's a good idea for Yahoo! Answers to display the home country of the asker? I'm sure some people assume that it's not relevant, but sometimes it is. For an example, I can't give very good investment advice to someone in India, so I might want to skip that question if I see they are from outside North America. Furthermore, if I'm answering a question and I mistakenly assume they are in the US, I might omit important details that I would assume they already knew.
