  • Does Yahoo collaborate with government repression in China and other countries?

Today, the French NGO Reporters without Borders accused Yahoo of providing the Chinese government with emails from independent journalists in China who favor nonviolent democratic change. The information was used by the government to jail these dissidents.

Why does Yahoo collaborate with such repressive practices?

Is this done because China has now a lot of money? Where else does Yahoo serve as an informant for dictators? When will this begin to happen here in the US as well?

  • Wine when taking antibiotics?

What's the story with antibiotics and (moderate) drinking? Some people say you should not drink because it neutralizes the effect of the drug, others say it does not matter as long as you don't take them together. If you're taking antibiotics for a strep throat, is it bad to have one or two glasses of wine with your dinner?

  • Reliability of E39 540?

What are reader's experiences with the reliability of E39 540 and M5 BMW's?

A friend has one and has had cooling system, ABS/DSC, belts, and instrumentation problems and says the car is much less reliable than the typical BMW's (which are outstanding).

Would you recommend buying one with 30-50K miles, just out of warranty?

Not my friend's, by the way.

  • Google sold out in China?

Google agreed to let the Chinese government censor its results in order to be allowed into that large market.

I say they've sold out. Besides, what will prevent them from giving out information about their users, in China, elsewhere or here?

Are users aware of the Orwellian (1984) implications of this decision?
