I'm taking a long -if not permanent- break from Y!A. After 5 yrs of providing young dancers with informed & researched answers about dance education & the inner workings of the dance industry, I'm fed up with the growing proportion of Askers who don't take the time to select a Best Answer. So from now on, if you’d like an answer from me, email me the link of your question, along with your promise that you'll select a B.A., & I promise that I'll at least look over your question. Askers who have a history of selecting a B.A. (according to their public profile) stand a better chance of hearing back from me. I invite you to read through my past answers. If you find anything useful or interesting there, please leave a thumbs-up. Some thoughts... The dance world, while seemingly small, is still big enough for anyone who wants to be in it in some fashion. And that doesn’t mean an all-or-nothing involvement either. There is an entire spectrum..(click View Pulse)

  • British boarding school series from late 60's featuring twin sisters?

I'm wondering whether anyone could help me find a British children's book series that was about two identical twin girls and their adventures at a British boarding school. My sister (an American) borrowed the books from a friend who had bought them in England way back in the late 60's when she was a little girl. Since she never owned the books, she's forgotten the author and titles, but she remembers them fondly and it would be fun to buy them for her as a nostalgic present. I remember that each title included the school year: First Form, Second Form, etc.

  • On Sigur Rós's album Takk, is "Glósóli" supposed to sound distorted?

The second track, called "Glósóli," starts off very mellow, but then it builds to a crescendo. At about 4:30, I hear a major reverberation. The music sounds very scratchy and distorted. Is this an intended effect, or do I have a bad copy?

  • Yahoo ID stolen or a glitch?

    Please check out this question:

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=200703...

I'm the person who got the 100% vote ('cause I voted for myself) out of the two of us who replied. Then this "third" person was chosen by asker as Best Answer, yet there is no text in the answer and the ID shows no name. Worse yet, when you click on the avatar, you get my profile. When I tried to report the "person", the abuser shows up as "mnm313," and when you click that ID, you also get my profile. Needless to say, I got an "Oops," 'cause apparantly I can't report "myself." What's going on?

I checked out the similar questions that came up when I entered in my question, but the answers didn't seem helpful. If you direct me somewhere, can you please provide a link? Also, I know about phishing and I haven't clicked on any emailed links except those that announce I got a Best Answer. I don't understand this.

  • Theater teachers: What media sources do you use to get show and product ideas for productions?

I need to find professional journals, magazines, catalogs and web sites that contain ads and listings for products that go into producing a school musical. How do you get your set design ideas? How do you come up with choreography? Basically, what is the one-source shopping for this stuff? Is it through trade shows? Conferences?

I am NOT looking for a list of links that are the result of an uninformed Yahoo Search. I'd like real leads to real resources that real theater teachers use.

  • Where did the US military treat amputees during the Vietnam War soon after the soldiers got injured?

I'm looking for specifics on where they got immediate treatment for their wounds that resulted in limbs being amputated as well as where they were evacuated to in order to receive more involved treatment out of harm's way. Or where they just sent home to their local VA Hospital after initial stabilization? Did locations vary according to military branch? If so, I'm mostly interested in the case of a wounded Marine around the time of the Tet Offensive (1968).
