  • I need help figuring out a song. recent radio hit, female singer kinda has a janis joplin vibe?

I used to hear it constantly on the radio a few months ago, not so much now. Never caught the name of the singer or the song. I can't remember the lyrics much (terrible memory for these kinds of things) but the song starts out fairly quiet and then gradually builds and the female singer gets more Janis Joplin like as the song progresses. She sounds folky but also kind of rock. The song instrumentation is primarily guitar with some drums. Hope that's enough to jog someone's memory.

  • asthma questions!!!?

My son has severe asthma and contracts pneumonia on a monthly basis. The doctor has decided that it is partly due to the age and state of our home (we live in a rental that has not had the greatest history of tenants).

We are currently living on only one income due to the fact that my son is constantly ill, so our budget is very tight.

Unfortunately, we make too much to qualify for Section 8 housing assistance, but we would not be able to afford much more than what we are paying now.

Does anyone know if there are any kind of foundtations out there that provide housing assistance for severely asthmatic children and their families?

  • A Question for all you Computer Nerds out there!!!?

I found a pretty good deal on an Apple iBook G3....

    *500MHz

    * 20 GB ATA hard drive

    * Mac OS X

All of this for only $289.99.

The problem is that I reallly don't know much about Macs.

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Is this limited in anyway? I am not going to be doing any media editing... mostly school work, browsing, and adding music to my iPod.

  • Was the wrestling scene from borat censored in the theaters?

I recently purchased a copy of Borat from Wal Mart who are rather notorious for sneaking in censored or toned down versions of music and movies and selling them as if they were the original versions. Anyway, I was curious since I didn't see Borat in the theaters if the infamous nude wrestling scene between Borat and his producer was censored with those black bars over their naughty bits in the theater or is this another example of Wal Mart trying to protect my virgin eyes from seeing some evil male anatomy?

  • A question for chefs!?

I will be starting my culinary labs this Spring. I need to purchase my knives very soon and I am not sure what kind to buy. I will probably mix and match my set, but I am not sure what brand to lean towards. The sous-chef at work suggested Forschner and I use them at work, so I am pretty used to the way they feel. I like the way the Global chef knife feels in my hand, but have heard that they can be fragile.

Does any one out there have suggestions about knives? Or even a website that gives pretty good comparisons or even customer reviews about knives?

    Thanks!

  • Why do certain internet sites think I live in Canada?

On some of the more sophisitcated websites out there like yahoo or Ebay, they pop up messages at me which assume I live in Canada. I don't... I live in Albuquerque, NM. For example, in Yahoo music, it won't let me look at certain music videos because it says

"This video is not available in your area. Please choose another video or visit your local Yahoo! Music Canada music service at http://music.yahoo.ca/ to find all videos available within that region. Thank you.

I assume there is a setting somewhere in my browser or perhaps in my computer that keeps telling these sites I'm from Canada but I have no idea how to correct this... can anyone help?

  • how do you adjust a clutch?

We have a 1998 Chevy S10 which needs to have the clutch adjusted. I refuse to take it to any of the local mechanics because it is impossible to find anyone honest and we don't have much money.

Can anyone explain how to do this or point me in the direction of a good internet resource?
