Mothers who breast-fed: how to cope with midnight cluster feedings?
My son is 6 days old and I need advice on how to get through his 11pm to 3am (or longer) cluster feedings. I wish someone had told me about cluster feeding because the first time it happened three nights ago I cried my eyes out. I'm still recovering from delivery and he seemed to have "forgotten" how to latch, was so fussy and was screaming. The painkillers make me nod off while he is nursing and I don't want nursing to be such an unpleasant experience!
When I took him to his first pediatrician appointment I was relieved to hear that cluster feeding is perfectly normal; I just wish they had information on how to handle it!
