I asked a q some weeks ago; about the meaning of shoes/sneakers hanging off trees/lamposts?
So, got the answers that it's the way to mark the drug/gang territory. But in the movie "Wag the Dog" with Robert De Niro and Dustin Hoffman, they hang the shoes arond the cities to somehow signify the popular support for the fictitional "Albanian war" and the soldier (Woody Harrelson) who got left behind the lines?! How does that figure with marking the drug dealer/gang territory?
