  • Roth 401(k) and Foreign Earned Income exclusion?

Im a US citizen starting work with a US company that offers a 401(k) plan with a "Roth" option. Since I live overseas, I'll be able to use the foreign earned income exclusion to exclude all of my income from this job. Does anyone know if I can make the Roth 401(k) election under these circumstances? If I do, do the Roth 401(k) contributions somehow become taxable?

Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Regulations requiring seat belt demonstration?

Has there been any consideration to allow the airlines to just tell people to ask the stewardess if they need help with their seat belt? I would assume that just about eveyone who travels in an airplane has learned to use a seat belt. Why should we still start every flight with a seat belt demonstration?

  • 401(k) distributions received by non-US Citizen?

I worked in the US for many years but now I am living in a foreign country and married to a non-US citizen. If I die, and she receives distributions from the 401(k), would she pay US tax at a flat rate or would the tax be at the graduated rates that apply to income effectively connected to a US trade or business?
