  • What is the best ipod car integration system?

I'm buying a car, and want to get a new audio system. I don't need a cassette player or CD player (for obvious reasons]. All I want/need is radio and iPod... I don't want something where I have to plug my ipod in by a cord. I'm looking for a system that I can control the ipod from the car (not having to push the next button on the ipod to switch songs).

I don't want an FM transmitter. I don't want a "cheap" solution. The sound quality is important to me, as well as the appearance.

  • Setting up linksys password with Verizon Westell modem?

I have set up my wireless linksys router, and am connected to the internet. The only problem is I am unable to set up a password. When I try to go to the linksys admin page (192.168.1.1) it goes to the verizon setup page instead. Is there another address I can use to go to the linksys page to setup a password?

I'd rather not have to reset the router, if possible, it has been such a hassle setting it up.

    Thanks in advance

((I've used this router in the past, but moved and had to switch to verizon and set it up again--if that matters))

  • Should I follow up with the hiring manager, if no timeline was given?

I interviewed a little over a month ago for a company, and I haven't heard back. The interview was pretty laid back, I met with the Director and the Senior. I sent my thank you notes, and heard back from the Senior saying he appreciated the note and either he or the Director would get back to me when they finished the interviews.

During the interview the Director told me that I was the first interview, so it may or may not be a long time before I hear anything back. He also told me to contact them if I got another job offer, because they may just be "dragging their tails".

Should I follow-up with them and ask if they've made a decision and reiterate my interest? Or just wait it out.

I don't want to be forgotten having been the very first interview, especially since this is pretty much the exact job I've been looking for!

  • Will Visual Basic be hard to learn if I've been exposed to C++?

I need to be "familiar" with Visual Basic for a job I applied for. I am "familiar" with Visual Basic, but I've took two semesters of C++ in high school. I'm a very fast learner, and I'm assuming that since I have programming knowledge, it'll be simple to learn Visual Basic, as I've heard its a much older programming version, and kind of limited in what it can do.

  • How to get rid of fleas with an infant?

My neighbor recently moved out and we've started to see fleas in our home. She had fleas last summer that infested the entire apartment building. She fed and played with stray cants often and Had cats of her own andnow despite us ever having a pet we have fleas again. I'm pretty sure they've infested the lawn in front of her apartment, as I noticed one ob me as I was walking into my apartment after being out.

The bigger problem for me is that Iwe have a 9 month old baby so, bombing isn't an easy or favorable solution. Any suggestions? I don't think we have a BIG problem YET a I've seen only 4-5 in the last 5 days or so... But I know they're here from all the bites on my ankles! Any safe solutions? Again we have no pets and never had them

  • How can I stop iTunes from changing my genres to numbers?

iTunes has started randomly changing the genre to some songs to a number, for example '(13)' or '(17)'. I'm not sure the cause of this, as it changes songs I haven't even played, it seems quite random, and I don't know when it occurs. I've seen other people have this problem, does anyone have a solution? It doesn't happen to a specific genre, artist, or anything, I don't see a trend at all

I run Windows Vista, and have iTunes 9.2.1.4

  • Did my thank you letter leave a bad impression?

I know this question seems silly, but I had a phone interview a few Fridays ago, and I sent a Thank You letter the following day.

I wrote the letter in word, and copied and pasted it into an email.

After sending, I went to my sent box just to look over it one more time, and I noticed that after sending the formatting of the letter got messed up. All the spaces between the paragraphs (it wasn't long) was deleted. The letter didn't look horrible, just less organized (as the spacing of course had fixed).

I'm afraid that the appearance of the thank you note may actually have hurt my chances of being called back, as opposed to helping.

What are your thoughts? Do you think the gesture and the well-written quality of letter will override the formatting mishap? Or do you think the sheer appearance was a turn-off?

I live in an area where thank you letters are fairly unheard of, so I'm sure that I am one of few (if not the only) person who sent one, and I'm hoping it will give me the edge.

  • How long should you wait to follow up after an interview?

I was left a voice message on Friday, February 19th, letting me know that I'd been selected to do an phone interview, and they would be conducting them that day and the beginning of the following week. I returned the call and got their voicemail, but left a message and was called back before the end of the day, at which point I did the phone interview.

The interviewer informed me that they would be conducting more phone interviews, and hoped to be finished by the end of the next week, at which point the hiring committee would get together and decide which candidates would be chosen for an in-person interview.

I sent a thank-you note the next day, but haven't heard back from them since, it has been 2 1/2 weeks since my phone interview. I checked my application status online and it still says "Application in Progress".

Should I follow up to see if the decision has been made, or is it still too soon?

If I should follow up, would it be more appropriate to follow up over the phone or email?

  • If my item was "damaged in transit" by FedEx will they pay for the item and shipping costs?

I shipped a car hood that I sold on ebay via fedex and it was supposed to be delivered yesterday when the buyer emailed me telling me that FedEx damaged the hood. The hood was never even delivered to him, so I'm assuming it was very damaged. When I checked the tracking (which I assumed he did as well), yesterday it said there was a delivery exception "damaged, handling per shippers instructions"... Today it says that the package was returned to shipper and "Unable to deliver shipment, return to shipper - Damaged in transit". Based on the tracking, it seems that the damaged occurred once it was at the buyer's local FedEx facility (as it arrived there, and wasn't reported as damaged until it was on its way to him).

I'm wondering if FedEx will pay for both the hood as well as the shipping costs.

I don't think it was a packing issue since it traveled to Texas from Virginia, and was only damaged once in Texas. So I'm wondering if I will be out nearly $500 or if I can expect to be reimbursed.

  • Should I not have planned to meet a friend on a trip I was invited to by another friend?

My friend was asked to go on a bus day trip to NYC by one of her friends, so she called and asked if I wanted to go. I've always wanted to go to NYC, and plan to move up there in the next 12 months, so I told her I would go. Normally, I don't like to go places with my friend because she's spoiled and negative, but I put that aside because the trip was such a good deal, and again I love NYC.

I have another friend who is like my other half, who is going to be up there, staying with her boyfriend. We haven't seen each other in about 6 months because she just returned from Australia, so I asked her to meet me there. She and I have been planning to go to NYC for a long time too, so this was very convenient for the both of us. She and I like the same things, and like I said get along perfectly.

I told my other friend that I was meeting her there, and she got mad. Despite the fact that she's going taking her other friend as well. They're pretty much planning to only go there for shopping the entire day... and I'm more into the cultural aspect of the city. I invited her to join my friend and I, or have my friend join us, and she pretty much refused and said she didn't want her to come at all.

I personally knew that she would act that way because she doesn't like to go places with me if I have other friends with me. I'm not the type that ignores a friend if someone else is there, I make sure to engage both of them, but she literally wants me all to herself, and all my attention.

We went to high school together, and she lost her best friend from high school because she didn't like that she started spending time with other people. I'll add that I'm 22 and she's 21, so I think this type of behavior is highly inappropriate.

But I will ask if I was wrong for inviting my friend to meet me while I was in the city. I'll remind you that she basically did the same thing in inviting me after she was invited by someone else.

  • What was the point of the Half-Blood Prince & the potion thing?

I just watched Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, and I'm just a little (a lot confused). I haven't read the book, and it seems as though the movie left out A LOT... and was almost pointless (other than the explanation of how Voldemort divided his soul into 7 parts (i forgot what its called)

But my main questions are, what was the point of the half-blood prince? I KNOW there had to be a significance since that's the title... but I didn't see it in the film. The only reference to it was that Harry was using his book... nothing happened because Harry had the book, and the only thing Snape said at the end was "i'm the half-blood prince" (no explanation to what that meant or what it entitled)... Maybe I missed the relevence, or maybe it just wasn't there.

  • Do I need to remove the pillows in my sofa before setting off a flea bomb?

I am setting off a flea bomb later because we recently discovered fleas. We don't think we have a bad case (as we don't have any pets) and also I set up a "Flea trap" (light hung over a bowl of water and detergent) and only caught about 4 or 5 overnight....

My question is do I need to pull the pillows out of the chair before setting off the bomb so that it can get in the cracks, or should it reach the cracks thoroughly without removal?

  • Are these fleas in our apartment?

I was reading a magazine in my floor and a little tiny black bug was on the book, so i tried to smush it with my finger repeatedly and the last time i lifted my finger it hopped off the magazine. So then a few minutes later I saw it on the book again, this time I squeezed it with my finger nail killing it. I noticed it was actually brown and not black, but very tiny. I'm wondering if this is a flea.

Lately, I've been itching a lot, and have bug bites around my ankle and some areas on my back and stomach.

We don't have pets, about 3 weeks ago we did dog sit, but the dog had just been to the vet and been sprayed. My neighbors do however have cats, and let's just say they aren't the most sanitary people, is it possible we caught them from them. (In the past we suspect that they are the reason we had a brief spat with roaches and mice)

We live in an apartment complex, so we also use the same washer and dryer as these people...

This is annoying! I just told my mom to buy some flea powder (the kind that you put on the carpet and vacuum)... I hope this is the cause and solution!

  • Does sweating from working out cause vaginal itch?

I was wondering if exercise would cause me to have vaginal itch. It is only on the top and edge of the vaginal lips. The itch isn't constant, in fact it doesn't itch during the workout, only if I'm sitting/laying for a long period of time or sometimes in the middle of the night while I'm sleeping. I use Vagisil and that relieves the itch... It will just be annoying if I always have to use it.

I kinda think maybe sweat/dampness is getting trapped, and the rubbing is irritating it.

    Any suggestions?

Additional info: I'm not sexually active, and have never been. There is no discharge/odor/or burning accompanying the itch...

  • Why won't my files download and open?

Whenever I try to download an mp3 lately, the file downloads and completes, but then closes immediately. Then when I look in the file location its not there. So far it has only happened with mp3's I can save pictures.

(and this is not an illegal download, the artist posted the file himself)

  • Is my laptop dying? Slow boot up.?

My computer has started freezing, not too often, but more often than it used to. It wasn't a problem I would just restart it, but recently (particularly after an update) it has been booting up pretty slowly. At the Vista loading page, its a normal speed, but between that screen and the login screen, the screen goes black then it flashes with a weird pixel thing after about 20 seconds, and then goes black again... after about 90 seconds-2 minutes, the login screen comes on, and it goes on like normal.

I have a Sony Vaio laptop, purchased in September 2007. Running Windows Vista.

My previous laptop (also a Vaio), also had a slow start up before the motherboard started to crash, but the blue screen popped up with that one, and it was in a loop, just continuing to restart without ever booting up.

Another thing I've noticed is that the earphone jack has started to malfunction, fading in and out a little. Also something that happened prior to my previous laptop crashing.

I just want to know if I should prepare to buy a new laptop soon, and also start backing up this laptop.

  • Riverview for Sims 3 won't install?

I can download Riverview, and it goes in the "download" tab of the Sims 3, but when I push the install button nothing happens. When I re-open the Sims 3, it isn't there anymore, and I have to re-download it, and it still doesn't install.

  • Is this an ingrown hair? I have soreness and swelling around the top of my outer vaginal lips.?

Late last week I had a small bump on the top of my outer vaginal lips (close to wear the slit is), I unconsciously scratched it, and I think I made it spread towards the inside of my vaginal lips (not at the bottom or around my vagina), but just at the top. I've started putting cream on it, and it seems to be getting better. It isn't sore or as itchy anymore. I'm not sexually active, and have never been. I've had ingrown hairs before, but this is one of the worst.

The itching isn't like a yeast infection, but more like an irritated sore is itchy.
