Just curious in Thailand
Did anyone else have trouble understanding the dialogue in Brokeback Mountain?
Although I am not a native speaker, my English is good. Still I had some trouble with this movie. Shouldn't movies with strong regional accents be sub-titled? In France, French-Canadian movies are routinely sub-titled.
(Brokeback Mountain was very good. It was a real tragedy. In the Shakespearean sense.)
8 AnswersMovies2 decades agoWhat will the football widows be doing for the next few weeks?
With the World Cup Football (Soccer) about to start, with the notable exception of North America, hundreds of millions if not billions of people will be obsessed with the sport for weeks and glued to their TVs. We all know that there will be more men than women among that number. So what will the football "widows" do? (Personally, I couldn't give two hoots about who wins the cup.)

Some people are telegenic, some are not. But when the picture is destined for a passport, it always looks awful!
5 AnswersOther - Destinations2 decades agoBest answers: Am I losing my touch?
Y! Answers says that 12% of my answers are best answers, which is respectable if not pretty good. But I don't think I am getting that kind of ratio anymore. Is it because I don't help as many teenagers with their homework, or answer as many inane questions as I used to?
5 AnswersYahoo Answers2 decades agoSomething must be wrong. How can I be on Y! Answers at the same time as Airplanegirl?
I don't think this has happened before.
I am totally disoriented especially after all this poison_ivy impostor stuff.
4 AnswersYahoo Answers2 decades agoShakespeare's 442nd birthday. Aren't we all 10 or 11 days out?
William Shakespeare was born on April 23rd 1564 (and died on the same day in 1616. The world has been celebrating --- he isn't, he's dead --- his 442nd birthday. But April 23rd 2006 is not really the day. When he was around, they were using the Julian calendar, not the Gregorian calendar we use today. So his real birthday will only be in a few days. What do you think of this?
(I've just reached level 4. This question will take me back down to 3!)

cyanne, I have wanted you to ask another question so I could have an opportunity to reply to your resolved question on the issue on marriage. I was going to refer you to this book: Marriage Proposals: Questioning a Legal Status by Anita Bernstein (Editor)

Also, I just responded to the question on Islam and referred the asker to an article which you might be interested in reading: http://www.iht.com/articles/2006/03/24/opinion/eda...
Thanks.

Or sometimes I am about to answer them when I decide not to because she might think I am following her or something. LOL
(Oh, and she always seems to get there first.)
